- Robert G. Schwarzbauer, 90, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. He was born in Menasha on June 11, 1921, to Carl and Catherine (Gamsky) Schwarzbauer. He attended Saint Mary's Catholic School, grades 1 through 12. After graduation in 1939, he attended Saint Norbert's College in De Pere, Wisconsin, where he studied agriculture. Rob married Gladys Fink on June 12, 1945, at Saint Francis Church in Hollandtown, Wisconsin. Their four daughters were born in Menasha and all attended St. Mary's grade and high school.
Rob and his brother John were successful dairy farmers who ran two farms on Highway 47 in the Town of Menasha. They retired from farming in 1965. Rob then went into sales at Schlafer Supply Company in Appleton until his retirement in 1985. He was a Menasha resident until 2006 when he moved to Appleton.
Rob is survived by his four daughters and their husbands: Ann and Tom Heiman of Tallahassee, FL, Mary and Robert Mellang of Libertyville, IL, Jean Schwarzbauer and Don Winkelmann of Princeton, NJ, and Joan and Doug Gietman of Land O' Lakes, FL, and by his three grandchildren: Janine (Jeremy) Mellang Marino, Lindsay Mellang, and Lucas Mellang. Rob is further survived by his brother John, John's wife, children, and grandchildren. Rob was preceded in death his wife Gladys.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
Rob will be remembered as a terrific Dad, Grandpa, and friend and will be missed by his entire family and all of his friends.
