- Vander Sanden, Rosella M. "Rose", KaukaunaAge 91, died peacefully Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born July 7, 1912 in the Town of Vandenbroek, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Williamsen) Kroes. Rose married Cornelius Vander Sanden at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute in August 1940 and he preceded her in death August 10, 1987. Rose was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and the Mission Club of the church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing sheephead and loved to spend time with and bake for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mrs. Vander Sanden is survived by her children: Mary Jane Heid-Verkuilen, Kaukauna; Darlene (Bill) Crowe, Dale, John (Arleen) Vander Sanden, Kaukauna; 16 grandchildren: Kim Heid, Kelly (Bruce) Wagner, Kurt (Diane) Heid, Keith (Paula) Heid, Kris (Bob) Mollen, Kathy (Chris) Brabant, Katie (Kevin) Voight, Diane (Jay) Zempel, Paul (Deb) Crowe, Dan (Anne) Crowe, Jill Downs, Tim (Mandi) Crowe, Gretchen Crowe, Beth (Pat) Bogan, Amy Vander Sanden, Debra Vander Sanden and special friend, Roland Saferite; 28 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2004, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Msgr. James Vander Hogan officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Friday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the St. John Mission Club.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the St. Paul Home for their loving care and compassion.
