- Marvin F. Skalmusky, Kaukauna, age 86, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at St. Paul Home. He was born in Kaukauna on August 1, 1920, to the late John and Elizabeth (Lange) Skalmusky. Marvin married Vivian Bevers at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute on February 14, 1942. He retired from Clinton Corn Processing Company as a technical sales representative. Marvin started his career in the paper industry at the Institute of Paper Chemistry while there he was responsible for many patents and coached the company ball team. Marvin enjoyed golfing at Countryside Golf Club, fishing and playing cards, especially Cribbage and Sheephead. He served on the Kaukauna Industrial Park committee for many years. Marvin cherished time spent with his family.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vivian; four children: Carolyn (Neal) Dantes, Quincy, MI; Marva (Charles) Ohman, Combined Locks; Gary (Charlene), Kaukauna; and Linda (Bill) Mavrinac, Huntley, IL; grandchildren: Bud, Greg and Brett (Jennifer) Pothoof, Jody Barkdull, Jeff Kime, Marisa (Quinn) Schartner, Shalene (Derek) Schmitt, Chas and Ashley Skalmusky, Wesley and Adrian Fait, Ryan and Jordan Mavrinac, Tyra and Chelsa Ohman, Eric Dantes and Joey Hassinger; 16 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, John Hassinger; a sister, Irene L. Borree; a niece, Betty (Jerry) Nytes; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Eunice (Williard) McCabe, Audrey (Jerry) Schmidt, Linda (Mark) Hietpas, Ruth Bevers, Jesse (Sally) Bevers, Wesley (Marge) Bevers, Dave (Nancy) Bevers, and Michael (Darlene) Bevers. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Hassinger; an infant son, Joseph; sisters and brothers-in law: Alice (Howard) Bowbly, Margaret (Robert) Bernard and Alvin Borree; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Orval and Carol Bevers.
The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 7, 2007, at St. Aloysius Parish (2401 Main Ave. Kaukauna), with the Rev. Jerome Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday after 9:00 a.m., until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
