- Gladys M. Van Hammond, age 85, of Little Chute, passed away Tuesday, Novem ber 22, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. She was born in Kaukau na to the late Wilbert and Clara (Blair) Pomeroy, September 25, 1920. Glad ys married Joseph Van Hammond March 2, 1946, and he preceded her in dea th this year, July 10, 2005.
She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and was an avid bi ker with her husband, Joseph.
She is survived by her five children: Clifford (Kathy) Van Hammond, Weyauw ega; Janice (Chester) Guyette, Rothschild; Thomas (Connie) Van Hammond, Sh eboygan; Karen (Dennis) Kronser, Kimberly; Cheryl (Michael) Scanlan, Kauka una; ten grandchildren: Jessica and Matthew Van Hammond, Scott and Paul Gu yette, John, Jim and Nick Van Hammond, Ken Kronser, Keith and Kris Scanla n; three great-grandchildren: Brea Jorstad, Jenna Van Hammond and Felici ty Kronser; four sisters: Ethel Durst, Colombus, WI; Pat (Harlan) Landenbe rg, Pound; Nancy (Elmer) Arnoldussen, Appleton; and Sharon (Ron) Rose, App leton; two brothers: Ken (Vi) Pomeroy and Jack (Rose) Pomeroy, both of Kau kauna; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean Schmidt, Kaukauna; Lois Pomero y, Kaukauna; Fran (Joseph) Gerritts, Kaukauna; Lorraine Daniels, Appleto n; Mildred Vander Heiden, Kaukauna; Verna (Tony) Gloudemans, Little Chut e; George Wydeven, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephe ws and other relatives and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Charlene, granddaugh ter Sarah Van Hammond, brothers and sisters: Wilbert (Kay) Pomeroy Jr., Ja mes Pomeroy, Dave Pomeroy and Bonnie Schadrie; sister-in-law Agnes Wydeve n; and brothers-in-law: Roy Durst, Truman Schmidt, Harry Michalowski, Mart in (Alice) Van Hammond, Lloyd Vander Heiden, Earl DeBruin and Milton Danie ls.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 25, 200 5, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Beno and Re v. Tom Pomeroy concelebrating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Lit tle Chute. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the ti me of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for S t. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
