- Jean (Drace) Hermus, 86, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2012. She was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Kaukauna, to the late Joseph and Helen (Stelzner) Drace.
She married the late Anton "Tony" Hermus on Nov. 29, 1958, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
Together, they operated Tony and Jean's Bar in Wrightstown for 25 years. After retiring, Jean enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles and playing cribbage, sheephead and Scrabble. She found great joy in preparing the altar for weekend services at Nicolet Terrace and was grateful for all gestures of kindness shown toward her.
Jean is survived by her three children, Giles (Karen) Hermus, Little Chute; Neil (Colleen) Hermus, Allouez; Helen Hermus, Milwaukee; and a sister, Janice Evers, Kaukauna. She is further survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Doris Janssen; and a brother, Daniel Drace.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Family Parish, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. when a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated with Father Tim Shillcox, O.
