- Ronald Francis Gerritts, 48, Freedom, died Friday, March 27, 2009. Ron was born Aug. 10, 1960, in Kaukauna, son of Vernon "Shorty" and Anita (Konkle) Gerritts. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Parish in Freedom. Ron was previously employed at Valentine Plumbing, Freedom.
Ron is survived by his three children, Travis (special friend, Cara Dunathan), Freedom; Deena (fiance, Cody Overstreet), San Diego, Calif.; Tyler, UW-Madison; sisters, Karen (Dave) Horn, Appleton; Vicky (Randy) Green, Freedom; brothers, Daryl "Doc" (Shelley), Freedom; Tom (Barb), Freedom; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Cory (Deena) and Kyle Huss, Sarah (Eric) Kranski, Paige Green, Nichole, Tanner, Joshua, Adeline, Cambria and Raina Gerritts, Nathan Dupont, Adam (Angela) and Kelly Horn. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul; and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Nicholas Church, W2037 Cty. Rd. S, Freedom, with the Rev. Dave Hoffman officiating and Deacon Don Newhouse concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of the mass.
