- Jim, age 82, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, following a brief illness. He was born September 18, 1927, in Appleton, son of the late Frank and Florence (Kranhold) Stoegbauer. He graduated from high school at St. Lawrence Seminary, Mount Calvary, WI, in 1945. He married Elsie Heller, October 5, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Appleton, sharing 52 years together. He was employed by Miller Electric for 39 years in the High Frequency Department.
Jim was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and sang in the men's choir. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; a sister: Lois Petit, Appleton; a sister-in-law: Carol Stoegbauer, Darboy; two brothers-in-law: Robert Griesbach, Delavan; Eugene Heller, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Ann Stoegbauer, Mary Lou Griesbach and Dorothy (Richard) Rickert; a brother: Donald Stoegbauer; a brother-in-law, Mark Petit; a sister-in-law, Maurine Heller; two nephews: Mark Rickert and Donald Stoegbauer; a great-nephew, Mark Thomas Procknow and a great-niece, Margaret Lynn Rickert.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Abler officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
