- Daniel J. Schuh, formerly of Freedom, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Kenosha Memorial Hospital. He was born January 20, 1940, in Freedom son of the late Aloysius and Genevieve (Schmidt) Schuh. Dan married his high school sweetheart and love of his life the former Dolly Butler in Freedom on August 10, 1961. She preceded him in death in 1986. He retired from AMC Chrysler/Daimler in 1988. Dan continued his football legend after his high school years by playing semi-pro football with the Racine Raiders for several years. He was an avid bowler, loved cooking and gardening and also charter fishing. Post retirement time was spent with his close friend Dot. Dan spent much of the last year and a half with special friend Trish enjoying a favorite game pinochle. He will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his son, Daniel J. Schuh Jr., Milwaukee and his beloved friend, Kristina Beck and her son Blake, Milwaukee, brothers and sisters: Jerry (Bev) Schuh, Merle (Sharon) Schuh, Betty (Carl) Evers, Jean (Allan) Tiedt, Darlene (Daryl) Haase, Bill (Lynda) Schuh, Pat (Alan) Hansen, Joyce (Alan) Garvey, Dave (Kay) Schuh, Rick (Carolyn) Schuh, Nancy (Randy) Smith, Joe (Darla) Schuh, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernie Schuh.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Freedom with Msgr. John Schuh officiating. Friends will be received directly at church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family 920-766-2099.
