- Liesch, Vernon Nichol as "Vern"Vernon N. Liesch, age 74, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully in the a rms of the Lord, at his home, on July 4, 2006, after a long, courageous ba ttle with a chronic lung disease. He was born on April 16, 1932, in Gre en Bay, WI, the son of Nic and Vi (Newhouse) Liesch. On May 14, 1952, he m arried the love of his life, Dolores Jansen. For 43 years, he was employ ed as a welder at Pierce Manufacturing, retiring in 1995. Throughout his l ife, Vern touched many hearts, no one being a stranger to him.His favorite place on earth was the "deer shack" in Argonne, WI, whe re he was a member of the Freedom Gun Club. He enjoyed meeting new peopl e, whether he was tending bar, bowling, playing pumpkin ball or just hangi ng in his garage. He loved and was loved by his family and friends and tre asured the times spent with them, including camping, relaxing at Marvin 's cottage, or fishing and hunting with Chesty and the boys. No matter whe re he was, Vern was the "life of the party," with his wisecracks, stori es and love of singing. Every one of his children was special to him a nd he cherished the times he had with his 18 grandchildren. After retireme nt, Vern enjoyed traveling with Dolores and their friends.Vern is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dolores; two sons and fo ur daughters: Linda (Tom) Munes, Little Chute; Nick (Kathy) Liesch, Kaukau na; Larry (Kathy) Liesch, Black Creek; Lori (Jody) Hietpas, Kim (Dave) Rom enesko, and Kay (Mark) Hietpas, all of Little Chute. He is further surviv ed by grandchildren: Greg (Whitney) Vosters, Jay Vosters, Stacy and Jul ie Liesch, Travis and Dylan Rogers, Hannah Liesch, Emily, Amy and Chels ea Hietpas, Katie, Nick and Melani Romenesko, Cody, Zack, Alex, Marki a nd Kyra Hietpas; three great-grandchildren: Kennedy Vosters, Tasha Roger s, and Kathryn Van Handel; one sister, Yvonne (John) Burrows; brother, Mer rill "Butch" Liesch (special friend "Nanner" Schultz); sister-in-law, Esth er Liesch; brothers-in-law: Martin T. and Al (Carol) Jansen; sisters-in-la w: Alvina and Grace Jansen; brother-in-law, Joe Dollevoet. He is also surv ived by numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death were his parents; father and mother-in-law, Mart in and Mary Jansen; brother Donald; and an infant sister. Also preceding V ern in death were his brothers and sisters-in-law: Rana LeNoble, John a nd Lorraine Jansen, Norbert and Laverne Jansen, Vincent Jansen, Agnes a nd Charles Moeri, Sella Dollevoet, Joe Jansen, Gertie and Gordy Marquard t, Tony and Lee Jansen, Marianne (Sue) Jansen, and Gerald Jansen.The Funeral Mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 7, at St. John's C atholic Church in Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 p .m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery.A special "thank you" to: Affinity Hospice, especially Yvonne, Rachel, Be th and Donna; Lori of Affinity Services; and Dr. Brian Scott and staff.
