- Joseph N. Daul Sr., 81, of Oconto, died Wednesday Jan. 5, 2005, at his home. Joseph was born Aug. 9, 1923 in Oconto to the late John and Elizabeth (Watry) Daul. He married Bertha Schmit on May 17, 1947. She preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 1996. Joseph owned and operated a dairy farm until his retirement in 1977. After his retirement Joseph was well known in his neighborhood for donating his time and helping others. Joseph served his country in the U.S. Navy. Joseph was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Knights of Columbus and AMVETS.
Joseph is survived by eight daughters, Connie (Tony) Kriescher, Oconto Falls; Linda (Jay) Behnke, Green Bay; Marilyn (Tim) Stewart, Green Bay; Cindy (Mike) Messenger, Green Bay; Susan (Mark) Speller, Stiles; Sherry O'Connor, Oconto; Marylou (Randy) Lemke, Oconto; Julie (Harry) Stich Jr., Oconto; one son Joseph (Diana) Daul Jr., Greenville; one sister Bernice Foster, Oconto; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one son Robert Daul, three brothers Peter, Raymond, Francis Daul, one sister Margaret Daul, one grandson Kevin Kriescher, and one brother-in-law Jackie Foster.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday Jan. 7, 2005, with a Rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m. and prayer service by Deacon Walter Kaszynski at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Parish with the Rev. David C. Ruby officiating and burial at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Military Rites by the American Legion Post #74.
