- Jane F. Christensen, 91, of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center with her children at her side. She was born December 22, 1922, in Little Chute, daughter of George and Catherine (Weyenberg) Vanden Heuvel. Jane's first husband, Robert Massonet, died in WWII. She was then united in marriage to John Christensen. Jane was a 40 year member of Theda Clark Medical Center's Auxiliary. She worked in the gift shop and knitted baby caps, sweaters and booties for newborns. Jane enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah.
Jane is survived by her son, Robert (Debbie) Christensen; a daughter, Mary Christensen; sisters: Ruth DeCoster and Virginia Stuyvenberg; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fetters; brother-in-law, Walter (Rose) Christensen; and "my little kitty", Ginger.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister, Betty (John) VanBeek; brothers-in-law: Norb DeCoster, Gene Welhouse, Donald Stuyvenberg and Wayne Fetters; sisters-in-law: Florence (Chick) Oswall and Ruth (James) Wrase; and two precious cats: Muffyn and Krissy.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Neenah Animal Shelter or The Salvation Army in Jane's name would be appreciated.
The Christensen family would like to express a special thank you to the Theda Clark Medical Center Staff and ThedaCare Hospice for making their mom comfortable during her last days.
