- Dennis Lee Feistel, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at his home. Dennis was born on June 17, 1944 in Appleton, son of Wilmer "Mike" and Ann (Blazek) Feistel. On February 8, 1969, Dennis married Katherine Valentine at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Dennis worked at Appleton Papers for 39 years, before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed watching the eagles and the night sky over the bay from their cottage deck. Dennis loved any building or remodeling project. He was always willing to help and was excellent at teaching how to do things the "right way." Dennis will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; his son, Greg (Kristina Gurich) Feistel; his daughter, Stacy (Joe) Gonnering; his grandchildren, Gavin Feistel, and Jacob and Thomas Gonnering; his sister, Sharon (Leon) Ebben; sister-in-law, JoAnn Monday; brother-in-law, Arnie Van Hammond; mother-in-law, Exilda (Geenen) Valentine; and other in-laws, Bob (Deb) Valentine, Jim (Bebe) Valentine, and Helen (Ken) Van Rooy, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Feistel; a sister, Peggy Van Hammond; and his father-in-law, Lee Valentine. The memorial mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Inurnment at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dennis' name may be made to the local Salvation Army, or ACES Xavier Angels Fund, 101 E. Northland Avenue Appleton. For Information: 920-735-9380.
