- Darhl J. Schumacher, age 63, New London, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 6, 2009. Darhl was born in Clintonville on April 8, 1946, daughter of Doris (Durkey) Knaack and the late Delmar Knaack. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1964. On April 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Raymond H. Schumacher in Marion. Darhl was a resident of New London for the past 17 years. Through many years of dedication she cared for residents in nursing homes and in later years managed housekeeping in various hotels. Darhl was very nurturing toward her family through cooking, flower gardening, playing cards and always going the extra mile to anyone who crossed her path. She also loved going to the casino with her mom and sisters and the mystery trips through the flower and garden club.
Darhl is survived by her husband, Raymond, her mother, Doris Knaack, Clintonville; three daughters: Sonya (Kevin) Prelipp, Hortonville; Robin (Terry) Rathsack, Combined Locks; and Sheryl (Terry) Pierce, Onalaska; three sons: Robert (Lynne Colbert) Schumacher, Gillett; Scott Schumacher, New London; Shawn (Kathy) Schumacher, Ripon; three brothers: Douglas (Nancy) Knaack, Clintonville; Dean (Diane) Knaack, Clintonville and Duane Knaack, New London; two sisters: Dianne Schumacher, Kaukauna and Denise Johnson, (special friend Larry Schramm), Manawa; nine grandsons and six granddaughters.
She is now united with her Heavenly father and her father, Delmar and in-laws, John and Agnes Schumacher.
Funeral services for Darhl will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, (318 E. Garfield Ave) Marion, with Rev. Giscele Berninghaus officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 1:15 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
