  Smits, Phyllis V.(Ba umann)Phyllis V.(Baumann) Smits, Kaukauna, formerly of Kimberly, age 97, pass ed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She w as born in Mackville on September 22, 1908, daughter of the late John a nd Odelia (Fries) Baumann. She was married to her husband of 49 years, Jo hn Smits, who preceded her in death in 1979. In her younger years Phyll is thoroughly enjoyed her time at the cottage being with her family and fi shing. She was very good at playing sheepshead and baked wonderful lemon p ies and homemade bread. She enjoyed listening to her husband's polka ban d, Leroy's Dutch Boys.Phyllis is survived by her children: Jane (Eugene) Romenesko of Little Chu te, Carol (Hank) Wulterkens of Combined Locks, Joyce (James) Williams of H ilbert, John (Elizabeth) Smits of Combined Locks, Ken (Jan) Smits of Combi ned Locks, Florian (Grace) Smits of Winneconne, and a sister-in-law, Phyll is Smits of Kimberly; 33 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren; three gre at great-grandchildren; sisters: Alice Romenesko, Sister Mary Florian, a nd Mary (Leonard) Tennie; brothers: Silver and Harold Baumann.She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; sons: Clar us and Ronald; grandsons: Tim and Doug Smits, and Ron and Don Romenesko; b rothers: Frank (Marie) Baumann, Cyril (Evelyn) Baumann, John (Ann) Bauman n, and Victor (Hildegaard) Baumann; sisters: Lucille (Nick) Fox, Helen (Ir vin) Stingle, Ethel Baumann, and Leah Baumann; and a brother-in-law, Cl em Romenesko.The funeral liturgy will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at HO LY SPIRIT PARISH, Kimberly Campus, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with F r. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 :30 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, M ay 1, 2006 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.The family extends a special thank you to St. Paul Home for their wonderf ul care for our mother.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Phyllis' name is being establishe d.Jansen Fargo Funeral Home 201 E.
