    Paul Ducharme sells a portion of the land in Kaukauna, including Dominique\'s cabin to Augustin Grignon.
  • 1813: Kaukauna History
    Augustine Grignon actually settles in Kaukauna to join his wife, Nancy McCrea, and their children

    Treaty of Ghent signed December 24th, ends British rule in Wisconsin.

    Augustin Grignon builds a grist mill on his property, and a sawmill shortly after.

    October 26, 1818: Wisconsin was divided into three counties when it was part of the Michigan Territory. The northern county was named Michilimackinac County, the eastern county was named Brown County and the western county was named Crawford County.
