- Robert "Bob" Aerts, 56, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009. He was born Aug. 1, 1953, in Green Bay, the son of Norman J. and Hazel (Hermsen) Aerts. Bob graduated from Abbot Pennings High School in 1971.
He married JoAnne VanDaHuvel on April 28, 1973, at St. Francis Xavier, De Pere. Bob served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for N.C.R. for 23 years and for Stock's Harley Davidson for four years. He enjoyed coaching and watching his girls play softball. Bob was a tree farm and gardening hobbyist and liked pheasant hunting with his dogs and nephews. Bob enjoyed riding his Harley, was a H.O.G. member, and liked going to Friday night fish fries. He adored his girls, his grandson, and all his nieces and nephews.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne; three daughters, Stephanie Aerts, Kristi Aerts, and Abigail (Greg) Potts and their son, Logan; sisters, Norma Jane Posey and Jackie Livingston; mother-in-law, Frances VanDaHuvel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kelly (Trudy) VanDaHuvel, Scott (Karen) VanDaHuvel, and Mary Jane Herber; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Hazel; and two brothers-in-law, Neil Posey and Roger Whitehead.
Family and friends may call Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, from 4 until 8 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating.
