    Obituary:
Gene "Buck" R. Quimby, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. On November 12, 1942, Gene Rodney, was born the son of the late Bernard and Erma (Marquardt) Quimby in Appleton. Buck had enlisted in the United States Marines in 1962 and served a short time. For most of his adult life, Buck lived in Milwaukee and worked at Curative as a Supervisor before returning to Menasha a year ago. As a young man, he loved to travel and tell stories of his adventures, one story being riding the rails and being somewhere different every day. Buck always wanted to know more about history and never gave up a moment to learn. A very compassionate and sentimental person, Buck loved music, mostly Country and writing poems for his family and friends. Buck was active in AA and was devoted to helping others. He had an unbelievable sense of humor and was telling jokes up until the end. He treasured his family and friends, all were very important to him.
Buck will be missed by his son, Jay C. Quimby; his sisters: Nancy (Richard) Taplin, Susan Nimmer, Shirley (Don Murphy) Herrick; a brother, Thomas Quimby; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Quimby.
A private family memorial service celebrating his life will be held.
Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements, 920-722-8252.

And also a thank you to the staff of Theda Clark and Theda Care Hospice for helping the family through the final days of Buck's life.
