    Leo J. Hietpas, 77, Allouez, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Bellin Memorial Hospital after a brief illness due to a brain tumor. Leo was born on May 3, 1938 in Little Chute the son of the late Norbert and Josephine (VandenHeuvel) Hietpas. He was a graduate of St. Norbert College with a B.S. Degree in Math and furthered his studies receiving his Masters Degree in Math Education at Illinois Institute of Technology. On June 2, 1962 he married the former Karen Garvey at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom and the couple enjoyed almost 54 years together. Leo started his teaching career in Coleman and later entered the Green Bay School system teaching at Edison Junior High and East High School until his retirement in 1997 after 35 years of service. Leo was a faithful and dedicated member at Resurrection Catholic Church for many years giving of his time in many areas and assisted on various committees. He loved to read and greatly enjoyed golfing and playing cards especially Bridge and Sheepshead.
    Leo is survived by his wife Karen, his children Marilee Kaas, Brian (Greta) Hietpas, Erin (Mark) Bal; 8 grandchildren Emily and Brandon Kaas, Claire, Sam, and Emma Hietpas, Ryan, Eric and Kevin Bal; 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law Carl (Lois) Hietpas, Gene (Margie) Hietpas, Gregg (Betty) Hietpas, 1 sister and 1 brother-in-law Arlene (Cal) Kaufman, 1 sister-in-law Joan (Mike) Bohlmann, 1 brother-in-law Bill (Pauline) Garvey. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Bernice Garvey.
    Gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Resurrection Catholic Church 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue after 9:30 A.M. on Monday, May 2, 2016 until the time of the Funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
    In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to the Green Bay Education Association Scholarship Fund in Memory of Leo J. Hietpas ~or~ to Green Bay East High School Institute for the Fine Arts.
    The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staff of Bellin Memorial Hospital 4th Floor for all of their care and compassion. Also, a heartfelt thank-you to Unity Hospice for all of the loving attention shown to Leo and his family.

    Lindsley, Mrs. Michael (Cheryl Hietpas)Mrs. Michael (Cheryl Hietpas) Lindsley, 33, a Bellevue resident, died Tues day evening, Jan. 30, 2001 in a local hospital following a courageous batt le against a brain tumor. She was born Aug. 21, 1967 in Green Bay to Euge ne and Marjorie (Van Ess) Hietpas. Cheryl attended Ashwaubenon High Scho ol graduating in 1985. She attended college at University of Wisconsin-Whi tewater where she received her B.B.A Cheryl married Michael Lindsley on Ju ne 9, 1990 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. She continued her educ ation through the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh receiving her M.B.A in 1 998. Cheryl was employed at Erving Paper and most recently Brown Coun ty as a senior analyst in the Human Resources Department.. She was a boa rd member for the Bellevue Park and Rec. Dept., an active parent volunte er at McAuliffe School and a CCD teacher at St. Bernard's parish where s he was a member.She is survived by her husband Michael, and their two sons, Benjamin and Z achary, both at home; her parents, Eugene and Marjorie Hietpas, Ashwaubeno n; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Steve Noles, Germantow n, Tenn.; Lynn and Steve Smith, Plymouth, Minn.; Nancie and Kevin Brenna n, Bellevue; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jay and Jodi Hietpas, S t.
