She was a member of the St. John Catholic Churc h, Little Chute. Hietpas, Arthur P. Little Chut eAge 84, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, with h is family at his side. He was born December 26, 1918 in Appleton; son of t he late William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Arthur married Ire ne M. Timmers, February 5, 1946 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleto n. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years spending 2 of the ye ars in the CBI Theatre (China, Burma and India) in Calcutta, India duri ng World War II. Arthur was a member of the American Legion Jacob Coppus P ost #258, Little Chute and a charter member of the World War II Memoria l. He was a graduate of St. John Catholic School and a member of St. Jo hn Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Arthur was a prominent buildi ng contractor in the Fox Valley area for nearly 30 years. Mr. Paul A. Hietpas, age 87, formerly of Rost Lake, Coleman, died May 14, 2008, at the Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester, Minn. after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He has resided at the nursing home for the last 4 years and prior to entering the nursing home lived with his daughter in Rochester. He was born on July 1, 1920, in Vandenbroek Township, the son of the late William and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. He was married to Ethel Elizabeth (Thyssen) Hietpas on Feb. 14, 1942, at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute, WI. Paul was a Village Trustee for 25 years in the Village of Little Chute. He owned and operated the Modern Shoe Store in Kaukauna, WI, and La Paul's Shoe Store in Menasha. After selling the businesses, he worked for Laywell Floors in Menasha, then Grode's Car Sales in Appleton later Melchert Brothers Garage in Seymour. While living in Little Chute, Paul and his wife had a summer home since April 1956 at Rost Lake and that is where they retired in 1982. Paul was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Klondike, where he was very active as a communion distributor, usher and Mass server. He also helped build the Altar for outside Masses, the cry room in the church and many more projects at church. Paul enjoyed his family, neighbors and friends. He liked fishing, hunting, riding on his pontoon boat around Rost Lake, keeping his yard up, gardening, the great outdoors; also bowling and his card club.
Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Lotus (Jacqueline) Conrad of Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Donald (Janet) Schlude of Chilton; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Hietpas of Appleton; two brothers; Mark (Glady) Hietpas of Little Chute and Owen (Irene) Hietpas of Leesburg, FL; sisters-in-law, Irene Hietpas and Anita Thyssen both of Appleton; brother-in-law, William Mattern and Sandra of Menasha; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Sat., May 17, 2008. Rev. ROCHESTER -- Paul A. Hietpas, 87, of Rochester, died May 14, 2008, at Samaritan Bethany Home, of Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Hietpas was born July 1, 1920, in Vandenbroek Township, Wis. He graduated from St. John's Catholic School in Little Chute, Wis. He owned and operated the family business, Modern Shoe Store, in Kaukauna, Wis. He eventually sold the business and worked for car companies as a salesman. He retired in 1982 and moved to Rost Lake in Coleman, Wis.
He married Ethel Elizabeth Thyssen on Feb. 14, 1942, at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute. She preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1997.
Mr. Hietpas was a member of Sts. Francis & Wenceslaus Church in Klondike, Wis., where he was a Communion distributor, usher, and Mass server. He also helped to build the outdoor altar, the cry room, and many other projects. He loved the outdoors, which included fishing, hunting, riding in his pontoon, and gardening. Owen N. Hietpas, Leesburg, FL, age 88, died at home Friday, February 21, 2014, with his family at his side.
Owen was born May 9, 1925 in the Town of VandenBroek, Wisconsin; son of the late William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Owen married Irene N. Weyenberg August 21, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, WI.
He moved to Florida in 1973 and shortly thereafter began developing Corley Island Mobile Home Park with his brother-in-law Jerry Hietpas.
Owen and Irene were very active in the St. Paul Catholic Community and in 2001 they received the Father Phillip J. Stegeman Memorial Volunteer Award.
They spent many years traveling in their motorhome throughout the United States and Canada. They were proud to say they visited all fifty states as well as many foreign countries. Owen enjoyed bowling, fishing, and never missed a Wednesday night poker game at the clubhouse. He will always be remembered for his big smile and his eagerness for helping family, friends, and neighbors.
Owen is survived by his wife Irene, a son, Ronald (Donna) Hietpas, Waukesha, WI; a daughter, Charlotte (Gene) Sullivan, Winter Park, FL; grandchildren David (Jodie) Hietpas, Jeremy (Claudine) Hietpas, Katie (Anthony) Sullivan Bellia; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Owen Hietpas, Benjamin and Irene Hietpas, and Abigail Bellia; a brother Mark (Gladys) Hietpas, sisters-in-law Sister Catherine Weyenberg and Shirley Weyenberg, brother-in-law Bill (Sandra) Mattern. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Owen was preceded in death by his son Randy, brothers and sisters-in-law Art (Irene), Paul (Ethel), Bill (Yvonne) and Dennis; sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia (Henry) Tatro, Bernice (Ted) Larson, Shirley Mattern, Betty (Casey) Vander Sanden, Margaret, sister-in-law Ruth Hietpas and members of Irene's family: father and mother in law George and Hattie Weyenberg, Betty (Peter) Schumacher, Mary (Woodrow) Diedrick, Lester (Elaine) Weyenberg, Julia (Gerald) Hietpas and Clarence Weyenberg.

Betty was born April 29, 1929, in Kaukaun a, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Mrs. William Mattern, (Shirl ey Hietpas), age 54, passed away Friday, September 16th, 1988, at home aft er a five year battle with cancer. She was born August 4th, 1934, in Litt le Chute, the daughter of William and Margaret Verhagen Hietpas. We ask ed why did have to be like this, there was no answer. As we tearfully wat ched her active life fade away, we realized how special to each o ne of us she really was. Day passed on as we realized there was no cur e, and life would be different for us someday. We were scared and so w as she, but she was now in God's hands, even more now than before. We kn ew she would soon be leaving as, for a life beyond our earthly comprehensi on. She would now be living with those that have left ahead of us al l. We knew she would be happy and active once again, she would be OK. T he memory of her special touch will live in our hearts forever. Dennis Hietpas, 64, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Brewster Village, Appleton, after a brief illness. He was born May 5, 1942, in Little Chute son of William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Dennis lived at home on the farm in Van Den Broek enjoying his family until 1992, when he moved to Agape 3 in Kaukauna where he met the great friends that became his second family.
He was employed at Valley Packaging until March of this year. Dennis loved music, dancing and enjoyed playing his harmonica, accordion and guitar. He traveled with his special sisters Betty and Margie and friends on Lamers Tour Bus. His wonderful sense of humor touched many lives. He was also an avid Packer fan and personal fan of Brett Favre. Mr. Hietpas was a former member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.

Kenneth J. Hietpas, "Hip", 59, Kaukauna, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at his residence. He was born on April 10, 1951, in Appleton, the son of Arthur P. and Irene (Timmers) Hietpas. Ken was an outgoing, friendly guy who loved to share a story, a laugh and a beverage with family, friends and acquaintances. He always brought a smile to your face and laughter to your soul. Hip had a kind and generous personality and was quick to volunteer his help or services in any way possible.

Ken was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaukauna, where he enjoyed serving as an usher. He was a regular blood donor and was proud to help others in this way. He generously offered his services and expertise to the "Rebuilding Together" program of the Fox Valley. Ken was a proud member of Local #955 Carpenters Union. He also was a faithful member and Friday night fish regular of the Local Moose Lodge #953.
Over the years, Ken enjoyed planting, tending and watching his gardens produce their bounty, which he readily shared with family, friends and neighbors. Hip loved to go camping and was an expert at building huge campfires. For many years, Ken was an avid bowler and belonged to various leagues in the Fox Valley. He enjoyed watching the Packers and playing cards, especially a good game of cribbage.
Ken was a devoted, loyal and loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor. He will be sadly missed by his caring and generous daughter, Stephanie, his sidekick, housemate and son, Josh, the joy and love of his life, his grandson, Drew, all of Kaukauna; the mother of his children, Betty (Treptow) Hoover, Little Chute; and "Lady", his companion and giver of unconditional love. Ken is further survived by his mother, Irene (Tim) Hietpas, Appleton; four brothers, Charles (Ellen), Little Chute; Jeffery, Appleton; Gregory, Dunedin, Fla.; Todd, Kimberly; two sisters, Susan (Ceylon) King, Menasha; and Jean (Scott) Hietpas-Ohrstrom, Mill Valley, Calif.; countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Arthur P. Hietpas, along with his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, of both the Hietpas and Timmers families.
Funeral services for Ken will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 124 West 10th St., Kaukauna, with the Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force on Ju ne 28, 1972 and served until his honorable discharge on August 10, 1975. B ill married the former Yong Kim on July 30, 1970 at the U.S. Embassy in Ko rea. Together they raised two children. She survives. He was presently emp loyed at EDL Corp. working as an Electrical Controls Engineer. Bill w as a man devoted to family and church. In his earlier years, he had enjoy ed working as a lay deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Crash Kills Appleton Teen-ager The deaths of 24 persons, including an Appleton teen-ager, in Christmas weekend traffic accidents, pushed the 1967 Wisconsin highway death toll to an all-time" record of 1,128 - one more than was recorded in 1966. The tragic weekend included the deaths of five persons in a Portage County crash Saturday night and the deaths of four members of an Allenton family Christmas Eve. Randy Owen Hietpas, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hietpas, route 5, Appleton, was killed and three young companions, including a brother and sister, were injured in a one-car crash about 4 p.m. Monday on Outagamie County Trunk 00, just west of County Trunk N. County Coroner Bernard H. Kemps said that Hietpas, a junior at Kaukauna High School, died of a broken neck. He was pronounced dead at Appleton emorial Hospital.
Teen-Agers Injured Injured in the crash were David P. Diedrick, 19 724 W. Third St., Appleton, driver of the 1961 convertible, with severe leg, hand and face lacerations; Terry Hietpas, 18, route 1, Kaukauna, with hand lacerations and chest injuries, and his sister, Sharon Hietpas, 16, with a fractured pelvis, fractured shoulder, broken ribs, possible brain concussion and lacerations, Sharron and Terry Hietpas, cousins of the dead youth, were taken to Kaukauna Community Hospital, while Diedrick is in Appleton Memorial Hospital. All were reported satisfactory. Little Chute police said the Diedrick car was eastbound on 00 when it went out of control, left the road on the south side, crossed a driveway, flew about 100 feet through the air, flipped onto its top, careened off one tree and went another 100 feet before slamming into a second tree. Police said the car traveled 416 feet after leaving County 00. The car came to rest in the yard at the Peter G. Janssen home, 821 North Ave. Thrown From Car Police said Randy Hietpas was thrown from the car while tlie other three were trapped in the wreckage. Although fire broke out in the motor area, it was out by the time Little Chute firemen arrived. Rodney Francis Hietpas, age 64, of Kaukauna passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Rodney was born on August 15, 1951, in Appleton, son of the late William and Yvonne (Verstegen) Hietpas. He graduated from Little Chute High School in 1970 and went on to work for Appleton Coated Locks Mill for 41 years. On February 5, 1972, Rodney married the love of his life, Nancy Diedrich. They would share 44 wonderful years of marriage and raise two daughters together.
Rodney enjoyed fishing at Pelican Lake with his good friends Guy, Cindy and Muff. He also loved working the land for Jeff, going out to breakfast with Gary, and talking about new projects with Pete out in the shop. He had a passion for welding, pouring concrete and building anything from bridges to sheds. Mowing the lawn with his John Deere was something Rod also loved to do. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Rod is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hietpas; his daughters: Penny (Patrick) Kelly and Katie (Joe) Kelly; he is further survived by his precious grandchildren who adored him and called him "Big Papa": Aiden and Alex Kelly, and Paige and Payton Kelly; his brothers: Keith (Kelly) Hietpas and Kurt Hietpas; sisters: Pam (Juris) Grinbergs, Patti (Art) Dworak, and Brenda (Special friend Todd Simoens) Van Asten; sisters-in-law: Barb Hietpas, Vicki Hietpas, and Judy Diedrich; brothers-in-law: Marty (Linda) Diedrich, Randy (Donna) Diedrich, Kevin (Nancy) Diedrich and Todd (Jodi) Diedrich; as well as his special nephew Andy Hietpas. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father: William and Yvonne; his brothers: Rick, Bill, and Tim; an infant sister: Kay; god child: Carla; mother and father-in-law: Ann and Austin Diedrich; sister-in-law: Kerrie Diedrich: and his good friend Tom Sprangers.
The Funeral Liturgy for Rod will be held at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna, with Father Tom Pomeroy officiating. Timothy J. Hietpas, Freedom, age 55, died Saturday August 20, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on October 23, 1955 to the late William and Yvonne (Verstegen) Hietpas. Tim married Barb Look on November 19, 1974. She was the love of his life and tireless supporter. He was employed at Appleton Coated. Tim loved the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, camping and watching the birds and butterflies in his yard. He cheered for the Packers and was a fan of Brett Favre's. Tim was a proud grandpa and cherished time spent with his granddaughters.
Timothy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barb; children: Carla (Dan) Howard, Neenah; Rose (Kevin) Erdmann, Presque Isle; and Andy (Laura), Little Chute; granddaughters: Faythe Carissa and Kaylee Erdmann; brothers and sisters: Rick, Rod (Nancy), Pam (Juris) Grinberg, Kurt, Keith (Kelly), Brenda Van Asten and Patti (Art) Dwork; father and mother-in-law: Joe and Rosella Look; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Vicki Hietpas, Ken (Karen) Look, Jean (Dan) Mittag, Diane (Don) Verbruggen and Jackie Look. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carla earned her BA of Accounting at Lakeland University. She worked at Bookland and Kimberly Clark Corp. Carla married Dan Howard on January 6, 2004. She was a loving and caring person that enjoyed reading and swimming. Carla loved her cats, Happy and Pepper, and her dog, Ezra.
