- Bill (Eldore) was a lawyer primarily involved with real estate and his own investments. He owned many various Milwaukee properties at one time or another. The most famous property he owned was the Ambassador Hotel on Wisconsin Avenue at @20th St. A famous Milwaukee serial killer, Jeffrey Daumer, was captured in his apartment a few blocks away. Upon his capture it was discovered Daumer had kept heads and other body parts of many of his victims in his apartment freezer! Daumer also stated he had killed his first victim in a room at the Ambassador Hotel and removed the body in parts to his apartment wrapped in plastic garbage bags!
Although the Ambassador Hotel did rent rooms daily, primarily it was a resident hotel for retirees and economically distressed older people. One of Bill's brothers, Bob, was living at the hotel and working as the head maintenance man when he died of natural causes.
