- Caroline C. Loerke Driessen Knerly, 76, passed away Nov. 17, 2003.
Caroline was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Menasha, Wis., the youngest daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Metz) Loerke. She was one of the oldest kidney donor recipients (1980). Carol's strength and stubborn will to live continues through her surviving four daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (husband Gil Klevens) Driessen, Kathy (husband Keith) Long, Janice Newhart (husband Brian Burski) and Jeanne (husband James) Rasmussen; grandchildren, Nicole Newhart, Eric Long, Natalie Newhart and Makenzie, Blake and Drew Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service and rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 1-818-991-3915. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, also at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth.
