- Bernice Marie (Benzschawel) Boylan, 82, of Greenleaf died peacefully Friday, August 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Bernice was born to the late Peter & Dorothy (Kloeppel) Benzschawel on March 4th, 1931. She married James Boylan of Greenleaf on October 20th, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenleaf. Bernice was a homemaker her entire life. She was also employed by Shade Inc. & Tec Systems for over 20 years.
Bernice was an amazing wife & mother. She lived her life always putting others first. Bernice's deep generosity and endless love for others with no expectations of anything in return was always present, especially in how special she made Christmas for the family every year. She will truly be missed & will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Survivors include her children; Tom (Rose) Boylan, son-in-law Dick Kocian, Jerry (Linda) Boylan, Shirley (Dan) Petersen, Dennis Boylan, Donna (Mike) Larson, Ken (Paula) Boylan, Michael Boylan, Janet (Jim) Blauert, Kevin (Maureen) Boylan, & Lisa (Bob) Falck; 28 grandchildren, Nadine (Brian) Mathu, Colleen (Lloyd) Stanelle, Jon (Charity) Boylan, Jamie (Molly) Boylan, Kourtny (Tim) Lamers, Kimberly (Mike) Denkins, Tiffany (Mike) Van Vreede, Todd Kocian (special friend Rachel), Chris (Carrie) Boylan, Keith Boylan, Curt Boylan, Ryan Petersen (special friend Amber), Tyler (Nicole) Petersen, Scott (Kristin) Petersen, Erin Larson, Nathan Larson, Ashley (Eric) Verbeten, Eric Boylan (fiance Jennie), Andy Boylan (special friend Hannah), Cody (Becky) Blauert, Travis Blauert (special friend Kristie), Justin Blauert, Nickolas Boylan, Stephanie Boylan, Amanda Boylan, Katelyn Falck (special friend Nick), Michael Falck, Taylor Falck. 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Kabat (De Pere); one sister-in-law, Vivian Du Prey (Oshkosh); nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Godchildren: Gary Kabat, Carol Schiltz, Steve Rosenbaum.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Jim on December 24, 2012; son Roger, daughter Charlene Kocian; her parents Peter & Dorothy Benzschawel; sister, Marge (Cyril) Huss; brothers Robert (Florence) Benzschawel, Richard (Ella Mae) Benzschawel; brother-in-law Lan Kabat; parents-in-law Edward & Prudence Boylan; sisters-in-law Mary (William) Kennedy & Florence (Mark) VandeHey; & brother-in-law, Robert Du Prey.
Friends may call at St. Clare Catholic Church-St. Paul site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown on Wednesday, August 21st from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a closing prayer service. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 22nd, at 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Robert Kabat & Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken concelebrating, assisted by Deacon Ken Kabat. Bernice will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Greenleaf.

The family wishes to thank all who shared a part in mom's life journey, especially the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital Dialysis Center, the Bay Area Nephrology physicians, and the 4 medical staff at Bellin hospital who helped mom and her family during her final journey.
Her love lives on in the lives she touched, with her gentle, caring way. In the words she spoke, in the hearts she warmed, in the joy she brought each day.
