- Koehn, Roger M., Little ChuteAge 82, died Wednesday, March 11, 2003 at Cherry Meadows. Roger was born A ugust 23, 1920 in Appleton, son of the late Anton and Clara (Seidel) Koeh n. He married Florence Vanden Heuvel May 10, 1947 at St. John Catholic Chu rch, Little Chute, where he was a lifetime member. He was an usher and com mentator at St. John Church for many years. Roger served in the U.S. Ar my from October 1942 until December of 1945. During this time he serv ed in The Pacific Theatre, stationed in Hawaii, New Guinea, the Philippin es and Japan. After returning from the service, he belonged to the Jacob C oppus American Legion, Post #258, Little Chute. He was the Past Commande r, in charge of the Badger Boys State Program for a number of years and se rved on the Firing Squad for many years. Roger was employed by Werner Elec tric Supply as a salesman and then as an office manager, until his retirem ent in 1987. He enjoyed being active in sports and especially loved bowli ng and golf. Roger was inducted into the Appleton Bowling Association Ha ll of Fame and was a member of the Fox Valley Golf Club.Roger is survived by his wife of 55 years, Florence; four children: Stev en (Cynthia) Koehn, Verona; Rogene (Gerald) Verhagen, Brillion; Mark Koe hn and special friend, Dan Plummer, Madison; Carole Koehn (Keith) Nerenhau sen, Little Chute; eight grandchildren: Leonard (Melinda) Joosten, Rober t, Jerry (Becky), Christine, Tim and Jesse Verhagen; Anne Marie and Elizab eth Koehn; four great-grandchildren: Aleah and Alex Joosten, Jerry and Ave ry Verhagen; a sister, Imogene (Gilbert) Frank; two brothers: Clyde (Joa n) and Kenneth (Lyn) Koehn; three sisters-in-law: Vivian and Maxine Koeh n; Olive Derus; a brother-in-law, Gerald Derus; numerous nieces, nephew s, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Roger was preceded in dea th by a sister, Merla (Clarence) Lamers; three brothers: Tony (Blanche), F rank and Jim Koehn.Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003 at St. John Nepomuc ene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen offic iating.Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church fr om 2 p.m. Friday until the time of the mass. Full military honors wi ll be conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion, Post #258, Little Chu te, following the mass.In lieu of flowers the family has set up a memorial to VNA of the Fox Citi es Community Hospice Foundation and the American Parkinson Disease Associa tion.The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Theda Care at Ho me Hospice program, especially Suzie and Heide and also the staff at Cher ry Meadows for their wonderful care.
