  Utpadel, Gloria J. (nee Wunderlich) Gloria J. Utpadel, Appleton, age 79, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004. She was born April 16, 1925, to the late William and Caroline (Riehl) Wunderlich, in the Town of Ellington. Gloria was very proud of her "Rosie the Riveter" service at Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles, California, during World War II. She devotedly assisted her husband James in running their business, Valley Asphalt Company. Gloria greatly enjoyed flower gardening and her wonderful home cooking will be fondly remembered by all those who enjoyed it. She always knew how to make people laugh, and Gloria faithfully loved and served her family and friends well. Survivors include her husband, James Utpadel, whom she married on April 16, 1952; her daughter, Lori (Randy) O??(TM) Bright, Appleton; her son, Chris (Pam) Utpadel, Darboy; grandchildren, Tony, Josh and Megan O??(TM) Bright; Mackenzie and Cooper Utpadel; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Waldo and Millie Wunderlich, Appleton; Donald Wunderlich, Appleton; and Jane Wunderlich, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her son, Warren "Pepper" Schroeder; four sisters, Marion (Dick) Werner and Gladys (Ralph) Ploger, Myrtle (Leo) Schroeder, and Ethel Wunderlich; two brothers, Lyle and William Wunderlich; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Wunderlich and Lorraine Morrison; and three brothers-in-law, Arthur Utpadel, Richard Utpadel, and Frank Utpadel. A private family memorial service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to expresses their deep appreciation to hospice, Cherry Meadows, and all those that cared for Gloria during her battle with cancer.
