Flora Persohn, age 91, of the Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, formerly of Brillion, died on Sunday, May 2, 2004.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1913 in Forest Junction, daughter of the late Albert and Hattie (Ott) Schubring. On June 12, 1935, she married Wilmer Persohn at Forest Junction. Flora farmed with her husband in the town of Brillion until 1972 and then worked as a cook for Brillion Public School until 1982. After her retirement, she loving took care of many of her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction.
Flora is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Armand) Wesener of Brillion; seven grandchildren: Deborah (Dean) Geiger, Douglas (Bonnie) Wesener, Denise (Ronald) Dallmann, Dawn (Steve) Michael, Donald (Judy) Wesener, Dennis Wesener and Danielle (Paul) Heraly; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy (Roy) Wink of Forest Junction; Betty (Oscar) Rosin of West De Pere; and a sister-in-law: Freida Schubring of Two Rivers. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilmer on Aug. 23, 1982; and a brother: Lawrence.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. The Rev. Warren Waddell will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
