Priscilla A. (Hamer) DeDecker, Appleton, age 84, passed away at Cherry Meadows in Appleton with her family surrounding her on Thursday, December 6, 2007. She was born on March 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Stanley and Lucy (Moser) Hamer. Percy graduated from Appleton West High School in 1943. On September 30, 1944, she married her husband of 63 years, Ralph DeDecker. Percy was a "Domestic Engineer" and was a proud mother of 10 children. She loved being in the outdoors, particularly tending to her flower gardens. Her favorite flowers were Roses and African Violets, for which she had a green thumb. Percy also spent much of her time volunteering her time with local Catholic schools.
Percy is survived by her husband, Ralph; 10 children; 28 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson and granddaughter; a brother; and two sisters.
The memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007, at St. Pius Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Nancy Lindo-Drusch and the staff at Cherry Meadows and Theda Care at Home for their loving care of Mom.
A memorial fund in Percy's name is being established.
