Oh, let me not linger. I have tilled the soil, set the seed,
and watched grow Those most precious gifts in the garden of life.
I have kept out the pests, Driven off the raven, Pulled every weed.
I have cultivated, and pruned, and watered.
Let me linger here, no more - For I have watched, and am pleased,With what has grown to maturity - All that I grew, grew well- Straight, healthy, and has given fruit.
I can no longer tend the garden-And, because it needs me no longer,
Let me go....
