  Notes	Twin brother of Matthias.In 1850, he decided to go to America. But a misfortune prevented his arrival. The boat was shipwrecked on the Coast of England and all the immigrants were forced to earn money to enable them to return to Holland. Arriving back in Holland, he remained and married Marie Beljaars on July 19, 1856 in the church of Lage Zwalue. Marie lived only one year. She died after the birth of their first child in 1857. This child, Walter, later lived in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
