  Voecks, Robert K., Appleton, after 89 years, Robert Karl Voecks has left us on August 2, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed on in his home with those who loved him. Robert was born in Appleton on September 30, 1919. Robert was married to Ellen Williamson Voecks for 52 years until her passing in 1993. He was also pre-deceased by his son Robert Jr. in 1997. Robert was best known for his partnership in Voecks Bros. Meat Market, College Avenue, and the Park'n Market stores in Appleton and Neenah. Prior to entering the grocery business, Robert was an Army Air Force P-38 Pilot during WWII. Robert was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, talented woodworker, chef, pilot, artist and an all around unforgettable man and he will be missed immensely. Robert was a quiet, but never at a loss for a witty comeback or hilarious one liner. His family and friends are truly blessed to have known him. Robert is survived by his sister, Mary Volkert, Middlebury, Vermont; sons: Brian Voecks and Bill Voecks; six grandchildren, and his long time friend Joyce Kranzusch. Robert's wishes were for no funeral or memorial service, as he wanted to be remembered in life. The family is requesting that donations be made out to: Community Hospice Foundation, 1818 N. Meade St.. Appleton, 54911.
