  Small-Pox Patient Dies. Died and Buried in one Night--Family of Small Children Left in Destitute Circumstances. Mrs. Walter Kappell of the south side, who had been ill with the small-pox for about two weeks, gave premature birth to a child Tuesday, and in her extremely sick and weakened condition, died that night. Being a small-pox patient interment was made immediately. The balance of the family are still in quarantine, and are in an extremely destitute and pitiful condition, several small children being left motherless, with scarcely anything to protect them night or day for the cold, and only such provisions for existence as hasx been furnished them by the city. Owing to the small-pox quarantine and their extremely destitute condition, the city has been unable to get anyone to remain with the family. Here is certainly an opportunity for the charitable societies to show their hand. She leaves besides her husband six small children. Her age was 32 years and six months, the cause of her death being childbirth together with a complication of diseases.
