- January 24, 1919 - A memorial service conducted by the Rev. A. F. Habermann was held at the church here Sunday morning in honor of Gilbert Stanelle who was killed in action on October 13, 1918. Two soldiers, Amil and Harry Luckow, carried flags in a procession of eight cousins in the church, which was beautifully decorated with flowers and the Stars & Stripes. The name of Gilbert was added to the Calumet County Roll of Honor
