- Julia L. "Judy" Thome, 77, of New Holstein died Friday evening August 17, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on June 14, 1935 daughter of the late Joe and Julia (Donovan) Heuring. Judy was a graduate of Kimberly High School, she went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh were she received her degree in teaching.
On August 9, 1958 she was united in marriage to Francis Thome in Kimberly. Judy was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who took great pride in raising her children. She also taught in several of the area school districts and was a longtime New Holstein school teacher until her retirement.
Judy was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church where she was involved with the Christian Women. She was instrumental in establishing the Adoration Chapel in Chilton and has remained active with the group for over 20 years.
Judy loved sports, she especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. She was always their biggest fan.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Francis, her children; Daniel (Sue) Thome and their children Brian & Michael Thome; Steven (Tracy) Thome; Lois Thome (John) Paluzzi and their children Nicholas & Isabella Paluzzi; Gerald Thome and Fiance Julianne Jones and their children Matthew & Elizabeth Thome, Alex Morgan; Sarah (Jesse) Heinen. Judy is also survived by a brother; Ken (Joanne) Heuring, a sister; Mary Kunstman, sisters-in-law; Audrey Heuring and Alice Thome. Many nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two children; Paul and Mary Alice Thome, her sisters; Margaret Heuring, Patricia (John) Pelszynski, her brothers; Joe (Joann) Heuring, Ed (Mary Jane) (Darlene) Heuring, her brothers-in-law; Robert & Michael Thome, Ron Kunstman.
Funeral Mass for Judy will be celebrated at 7:00pm on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna (N188 School St. New Holstein) with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in the Parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Church on Tuesday from 3:00pm until 6:45pm when we will have brief family rites.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for St. Ann Catholic Church.
Judy's family would like to extend a very heartfelt and grateful thank you to the New Holstein First Responders and the Doctors and staff at Calumet Medical Center and Theda Clark Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Judy and her family.
