- Mrs. Laurena (Laura) Hartz, 63, of Rt. 1, Hilbert, died Thursday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton. Funeral services will be at Peace United Church of Christ, Potter. The Rev. Gene Becker will officiate and burial will be in the Potter cemetery.
Mrs. Hartz was born Jan. 27, 1906, in the Town of Maple Grove, daughter of the late Fred and Ida Schultz Behnke, Sr. She was married to Herman Hartz July 18, 1924, at Brillion, and the couple farmed in the Town of Rantoul. She was a cook at the Chilton hospital the past seven years and was a member of the Evening Guild of the Peace Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Riemer, of Rt. 2, Brillion; two sons, Harvey of Potter and Harold of Rt. 1 Hilbert; a sister, Mrs. Alvina Thurow, of Rt. 2, Brillion; a brother, Henry C., of Rt. 1 Brillion; a half sister, Mrs. Milton Netschke, of Van Dyne, Wis.; four half brothers, Erwin and Robert Behnke of Rt. 2 Brillion, Waldemar of Reedsville and Milton of Brillion; a stepbrother, Fred Schaefer of Hilbert; and 12 grandchildren. Her husband, three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
