  Melvin K. "Bud" Onkels; AppletonAge 70, died on Monday, October 30, 2000, at his home after a long batt le with cancer surrounded by his family. He was born in Kaukauna on July 1 8, 1930, to the late Oscar and Johanna (Verkuilen) Onkels. On September 1 0, 1955, he married Geraldine Knabenbauer. Bud was a veteran of the Kore an Conflict serving in the Army. He worked at Consolidated Construction Co mpany for over 20 years.He will be sadly missed by his wife, Geraldine; children, Daniel Onkels, D ebra (Alan) Crawford, David (special friend, Kay Gasper) Onkels and Dia ne (Jamie) Dontje, all of Appleton; brothers, Eugene Onkels and Robert (Ja n) Onkels, both of Kaukauna; sister, Jane (Ralph) Hacker, Sturgeon Bay; gr andchildren, Adam and Michelle Onkels, David and Andrew Crawford, Amand a, Jessica and Corey Gasper, Samantha and Monica Dontje; other relatives a nd friends.The Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 3, 2000, at 1 p.m. at t he Valley Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Friday at the funeral ho me from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
