  Van Asten, Barbara R., "Bob ", Little ChuteAge 85, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She w as born August 27, 1918 in Kaukauna; daughter of Michael and Catherine (De rcks) Verhagen. Barbara married Urban P. Van Asten, September 14, 1937 a nd he preceded her in death January 8, 1987. Mrs. Van Asten was a memb er of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and the St. Elizab eth Society. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and the "Cousins Cl ub". Barbara read her prayer book every day and loved the Christmas seaso n. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Mrs. Van Asten is survived by her children: Jim (Audrey) Van Asten, Kaukau na; Linda (Dan) Gloudemans, Little Chute; Judy (Gary) Valentyne, Kimberl y; Greg (Becky) Van Asten, Little Chute; a son-in-law, Jerry Fox, Surin g; 14 grandchildren: Bob (Mary), Mike (Brenda), Tracy (Al), Scott (Kim), R ick (Michelle), Rob (Michelle), Todd (Amber), Jenny (Troy), Shelly (Brian ), Chad, Beth, Taresa, Tony, Paige, Tom (Libbie), Tim (Tina), Brian; 23 gr eat-grandchildren; a brother, Mike Verhagen, Greenville; a sister, Jeanet te Van Deurzen, Little Chute; three sisters-in-law: Pat Verhagen, Florid a; Lexie and Irene Van Asten, both of Little Chute; nieces, nephews and ot her relatives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Fox; brothe rs and sisters: Rosella (Henry) Felauer, Josephine (Hubert) George, Wil ma (Nick) Vande Hey, Dorothy (Rich) Wolf, Florence (Vick) Stoege, Jim (Do t) Verhagen, Rita (Bob) Wegand, Don Verhagen, Elizabeth Verhagen; brothe rs and sisters-in-law: Melvin, Maurice and Cy (Joyce) Van Asten, Bern-adet te (Elmer) Huss, Mathilda (Ambrose) Weigman.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 20 03 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Ho gen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Fri ends may call at the church from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of t he mass. A memorial for Alzheimer's research has been established.Barbara's family wishes to thank St. Paul Home and staff for their lovi ng care and concern.
