- See Image Dwayne A. Conrad, "Wayne", Fr eedom, age 51, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 15 th, 1998. Wayne was born December 5th, 1946 in Appleton, son of Norbert a nd Eva (Lamers) Conrad of Freedom. On June 17th, 1967, he married the for mer Linda Daul in Freedom; she survives. Wayne was a lifetime reside nt of Freedom and had worked for over 20 years for Paul Van Zeeland Heatin g. In 1991, he and Linda started their own business, Conrad Heating and A ir conditioning Inc. He was a member of the Freedom Lions Club, Ducks Unl imited, and St. Nicholas Catholic church. In enjoyed spending time at h is trailer near Townsend, hunting, snowmobiling, and NASCAR racin g. He is survived by his parents, Norbert and Eva Conrad, Freedom; his wi fe Linda Conrad, of Freedom; three daughters: Michele (Kevin) VerVoort, Pa tti (Bruce) Opperman, and Tammy Conrad and her fiancee, Scott Corrigan, a ll of Freedom; five grandchildren: Matthew and Mason Opperman and Ashle y, Halie and Amber VerVoort; a brother, and Gerald (Sandy) Conrad, of Appl eton; two sisters: Sharon (Clarence) Van Handel and Kathy (Mel) Brockma n, both of Freedom; Linda's parents, Willard and Grace Daul, of Freedom; a nd by Linda's of brothers and sisters; Bill (Grace) Daul, Jean (Orinie) P eterson, Betty (Mike) Moser, Vicky (Hank) Calmes, Pat (Mike) Romenesko; Ge ri (Dave) Verkuilen, Larry (Mary) Daul, Karen (Bob) Garvey, Diane (Scot t) Zwiers, Cory (Mike) VanHoof, and Lisa (Jeff) Ludwig, all of Freedom. W ayne is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunt's, uncles, cous ins, other relatives, and many dear friends. The funeral liturgy for Way ne will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18th, 1998 at St. Nicholas Cath olic Church in Freedom, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Internment wi ll be in the parish cemetery.Linda, Michele, Patti, and Tammy would like to thank those who assisted t he family during their difficult hours on Wednesday, including the Freed om first responders, their numerous family members, friends and neighbor s, and the staff of the Appleton Medical Center emergency room.
