- James M. Vanden Boogart, Greenleaf, age 61, died Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born in Little Chute on February 24, 1956, the son of Martin and Martha (Joosten) Vanden Boogart. Jim married Barbara McHugh in Appleton on April 24, 1982. He loved and valued his family, God, friends, the outdoors, writing, and spending time on his land. Jim was the president of and was deeply devoted to his work with the Brown County Citizens for Responsible Wind Energy (BCCRWE), a non-profit organization known worldwide. For over 35 years he loyally worked at Appleton Coated (Combined Locks), in recent years as lead man for a crew of tradespeople.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Barbara; daughters: Jennifer Felber of Madison and Olivia Jones of Madison; grandson, Quinton Jones; mother, Martha Vanden Boogart; brothers: Jeff (Dar), Mike (Shelley) and Steve (Linda) Vanden Boogart; sister, Sandi (Bill) Poppe; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Pat Foelske, Kathy Schnetzer, Nancy (Don) Colligan and Steve (Mary) McHugh. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Martin Vanden Boogart; father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Helen McHugh; brothers-in-law: Don Van Heuklon, John Foelske, and Greg Schnetzer; and nephew, Luke Foelske.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of brief service at 7:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones coming to celebrate his life will have the opportunity to share stories and fond memories.
