- Schroeder, Inez M. nee DorseyInez M. Schroeder, of Appleton, age 83, died peacefully in her home on Fri day, February 11, following a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late Th omas & Coletta (Golden) Dorsey, Inez was born on March 2, 1921, in Mackvil le, WI. She attended Freedom High School, and graduated from Appleton Hi gh School.Inez was married to Harold E. Schroeder for 47 years, until his death in 1 988. Together they raised 8 children: Jim (Peggy); Joan (Fred) Orland; Lin da (Ray) Vanden Bergh; Chris (Joe Haubenhofer); John (Meg); Peggy (Care y) Wacker; Will. She was proud of her 19 grandchildren: Sarah, Huntz, Mar y, Jenny, Ben, Stacy, Joey, Annie, Cassie, Mark, Katie, Mike, Betsy, Ro b, Joe, Matt, Emily, Sam, Catie and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also sur vived by her brother, Bob Dorsey, Bossier City, Louisiana and sister, Ire ne A. Hopfensperger, Appleton and Whitehouse, Texas. Irene was a devoted a nd loving caregiver to Inez throughout her illness.Inez was preceded in death by an infant son, Dougie; 4 sisters and 3 broth ers.She lived in Appleton all her life, except for a 6-year period in Colora do Springs. Inez was a member of St. Thomas More Parish since 1963. She w as an exceptional cook and an avid reader. Inez volunteered at various org anizations, including St. Elizabeth Hospital and CASI house. She enjoyed p laying cards with her friends and traveling. Inez found great pleasu re in a good meal, a good book and a good laugh with family and friends.The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, February 14, 200 5, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleto n, with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church on Mo nday, February 14 from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The entombment wi ll be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.The Schroeder family is grateful to Rose Vorpahl who lovingly cared for th eir mom in the past months.
