- Franklin J. "Amos" Boots, of Appleton, age 85, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Appleton Medical Center. Amos was born on June 2, 1921, in Little Chute to the late Antone and Elizabeth (Van Rooy) Boots. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to the area where he was united in marriage to Jeanette Mortensen, who preceded him in death. He retired from Kimberly-Clark/MidTech Paper.
He was a member of the American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church. Amos enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his son, Michael Boots, Indiana; granddaughter, Jessica Boots; special friend, Bonnie Bodway; brother-in-law Gordon Schreurs; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Red, Jim, Henry, Theresa, Katherine, and Ann.
A memorial service for Amos will he held on Friday, December 15, 2006, at 11 a.m. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 S. Allen St., with Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
