- Katherine A. Arndt, age 71, of Fremont, died on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. She was born on December 29, 1937, in Shawano, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Ward and Cecilia (Sturm) Tinsman. On June 28, 1958, Katherine married George Arndt in Shawano.
Katherine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield. She was employed at Peabody Manor in Appleton for 15 years and worked at Advance Industries for ten years. Katherine enjoyed baking, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, walking and traveling.
Katherine is survived by her husband, George; two sons: Michael (Donna), Freedom; and James (Gwen), Readfield; two daughters: Kathy (David) Bell, Reston, VA; and Julie (Tom) Hipp, Hortonville; ten grandchildren: Shanna (Rob) Buettner, Bradley (Jen) Arndt, Travis, Josh, Megan and Rebecca Arndt, Jessica (Jon) Ryan, Matthew Hipp, Jennifer (Chris) French and Jonathan Hipp; a great-grandson, Harrison Buettner; and two brothers: Pat (Barbara) Tinsman, CA; and Tom Tinsman, Kaukauna.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Readfield. Rev. Robert Diener will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church, Readfield.
