- Arvin T. Wolfgram, 85, of Appleton, died Thursday February 18, 2016 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1930, in the Town of Center, son of the late Ted and Marie (Bahr) Wolfgram. Arvin married Betty Malueg on August 20, 1955.
Arvin graduated from Appleton High School Class of 1951, and was a member of "Club 51". He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Arvin worked for 40 years, as a millwright at Riverside Paper Company, retiring in 1994. He and Betty were two of ten charter members, who in 1976 started the national organization FAGCA. They were also members of the Appleton Historical Society. Arvin has been a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Appleton since 1969. Arvin was a member of the American Legion Post #38. He was honored to be able to join his fellow veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2014. Arvin enjoyed cross stitching and growing flowers in his garden. Arvin's greatest joy came from cheering on his grandchildren, Jessica and Josh Toonen at all of their sporting events. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments.
Arvin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty; son, Rev. Craig (Kathryn) Wolfgram, Wisconsin Dells; and daughter, Diane (Thomas) Toonen, Greenville; three grandchildren, Caitlin Wolfgram, Wisconsin Dells, Jessica and Josh Toonen, Greenville; sister, Arlis Wilfer, Appleton; and two nephews, Larry Wilfer, Appleton and Jerry (Suzanne ) Wilfer, Neenah. He was further preceded in death by a brother in-law, Vernon Wilfer.
Funeral service for Arvin will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday February 23, 2016 at OUR SAVIOUR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3009 N. Meade St., Appleton, with Rev. Dee Sim officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00AM until 10:45 AM. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton with full military honors.
