- Lom, Herbert G. AppletonAge 84, died on Friday, June 14, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was bo rn in Rudolph, Wisconsin on February 22, 1918 to the late Peter and Anna ( Hooyman) Lom. On May 6, 1944 he married Josephine Van Gompel. Herbert w as a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville. He worked for t he Civil Conservation Corporation with the government from 1935 to 194 0. He and his wife farmed in the Town of Center, and he also worked at App leton Papers for 37 years. Herbert was on the Town of Center Board for fo ur years.He will be sadly missed by his wife, Josephine; children: Sister Ann Mar ie Lom, Manitowoc; Vicky (Dennis) Vosters, Appleton; and Patricia (Jame s) Seegers, Appleton; grandchildren: Kristi (Craig) Krieski; Jamie (Michel le) Vosters, Jeremy and Joey Vosters, Sarah (Matt) Holz and Nichole (speci al friend Nic Smith) and Emily Seegers; great grandchildren: Jacob Voste rs and Anna and Ashley Krieski; sister, Delephine Verhagen, Little Chut e; half-sister, Jane (Gene) Jastrow, Appleton; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lo m, Appleton; half brothers: Wilbert (Lorraine) Lom, Florida; Ronald Lom, A ppleton; brother-in-law, Marc (Mary) Van Gompel, Gillett; sisters-in-la w: Lynda (Norb) Weyers, Kaukauna; and Catherine Van Gompel, Little Chut e; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preced ed in death by a daughter, Karen Lom; brothers: John (Margaret) Lom; Wilbe rt, and Edmund Lom; sisters: Natalie (Wilmer) Versch; Mary (Ray) Stephan i; half brothers and sister, Tom and Joey Lom, Theresa Verheyen and step m other, Nel Lom; brothers-in-law: Walter Verhagen and James Van Gompel; sis ter-in-law, June Van Gompel.The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 17, 2002 at 11 am at St. Edward C atholic Church in Mackville, with Father Charles Brooks officiating. The v isitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. a nd again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mas s. There will be a vigil service on Sunday at the funeral home at 7:30 p. m. with the Franciscan Sisters. In lieu of other expressions of sympat hy a memorial has been established. Burial will be in in the Parish Cemete ry.
