- Marie K Van Dehy, age 91, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Freedom on July 1, 1924 to the late Patrick and Dorothy (Weyenberg) Murphy. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1942, she married Martin Van Dehy, and they resided in Kimberly. Marie worked for several years at Kimberly Clark and then for ten years at the Appleton Post Office as a rural mail carrier until she retired in 1986. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and reading.
She is survived by her children; Patrick (Cindy), James (Mary), Joseph (Sue) and Carol (Kevin) Henning, grandchildren; Dave, Steve, Tammy, Brian, Alex, Kyla, Casey, Lee, Jacob, Jesse and Taylor as well as numerous great grandchildren. Marie is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Bob and Judy Henning, "They were always there when I needed them".
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin, Son, Michael, brothers; Ignasious "Nace", Patrick, James and Joseph, sisters; Dorothy and Margaret.
A funeral service for Marie will be held at 5:00pm, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 3:00pm until 4:45pm Wednesday, July 6 also at the funeral home.
