- Lawrence A. "Laffy" Weyenberg, 90, of Kimberly passed away at home on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Lawrence was born on June 26, 1919, to the late Albert and Clare Weyenberg in Combined Locks. He married Adeline Fjellerad on May 24, 1941, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Lawrence served in the Army during WWII under Patton in Europe. He worked as a carpenter at Appleton Coated until his retirement. He loved to fish and vacation every year in Eagle River. Lawrence also was a Packers Fan, a season ticket holder and attended the Ice Bowl. He also helped with his brother-in-law Lloyd with carpentry projects for the Kimberly Rec Association.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Larry Weyenberg Jr., Shiocton; grandchildren: Kerri Anne Frank, Darboy and Jacquelyn (Steve) Getsfried, Black Creek; great-grandchildren: Kelsie and Austin Frank and Kennedy Getsfried; his sister, Rose Mary (Paul) Kersten and sister-in-law, Delores (Lloyd) Siebers and nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Adeline, his daughter-in-law Carol, his brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 12 p.m. at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., with Father David Beaudry officiating. Friends may call on Thursday January 7, 2010, from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the Church. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
