- Gloudemans, Verna Mae (V an Hammond)Verna Mae (Van Hammond) Gloudemans, age 81, of Little Chute, gentle, lovin g, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was receiv ed in the arms of the Lord on July 4, 2006, while at home with her fami ly at her side. She was born on May 17, 1925, in Isaar, daughter of Arno ld and Antoinette (Vander Velden) Van Hammond. When Verna was five years o ld, her family moved to Little Chute where she attended St. John School. A fter her years of schooling, she worked at various jobs and was later empl oyed at Zwickers Knitting Mill and Kimberly Clark in Kimberly.While at a dance, she met the love of her life, Tony Gloudemans. Verna a nd Tony were married on June 22, 1944, at St. John Catholic Church in Litt le Chute. Together they were blessed with eighteen children, whom she lov ed dearly. This past June 22, Verna and Tony celebrated their 62nd weddi ng anniversary at their home with a family rosary and ice cream. Througho ut her married life, Verna worked extremely hard to provide a wonderful ho me for her family. She took very good care of her children, kept her ho me tidy, and her daily home-cooked meals were second to none. When her chi ldren married, she warmly welcomed each son- and daughter-in-law into h er circle of love, and the smile on her face when she held one of her gran dchildren or great-grandchildren warmed one's heart. Verna was a devout Ca tholic and a member of St. John Nepomecene Parish.Verna will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Anthony Gloudemans; 17 s urviving children: Joseph Gloudemans, Little Chute; Dennis (Karen) Gloudem ans, Hilbert; Bonnie (Dennis) Feldkamp, Kaukauna; Judy (Wayne) Baumgart, S eymour; Nancy (Greg) Janssen, Little Chute; Jan (Dan) Biselx, Kaukauna; Jo ni (Gerry) Janssen, Kathy (Jeff) Jansen, Colleen (Oscar) Schuler, Tim (Kel ly) Gloudemans, Mike (Kay) Gloudemans, Karen (Steve) Frassetto, Jeff (Juli e) Gloudemans, Mary (Bob) Hietpas, Mark (Katy) Gloudemans, Chris (Terry) C oenen, and Todd Gloudemans, all of Little Chute); 51 grandchildren: Bri an (Steph) Gloudemans, Jason Gloudemans (fiancee Gina), Carmen (Chad) Ashm an, Sara Feldkamp, Julie (Raj) Pradham, Michael, Anne, and Rachel Feldkam p, Karen (Chad) Zirbel, Craig (Wendy) Baumgart, Amy (Tom) Gard, Eric Baumg art, Michelle (Troy) Wilson, Tammy (Michael) James, Kelly Janssen, Christi ne (Ken) Munson, Cathy (Marty) McGee, Mark Biselx, Scott (Amy) Janssen, Lu ke, Ben, Peter, and Emily Janssen, Lisa (Peter) Pendleton, Beth (Chad) Ver boomen, Julie (David) Lamers, David Jansen, Lori (Duane) Dissen, Chad Schu ler (fiancee Sarah), Katy Schuler, Adam, Luke, James, Stacy Gloudemans, Ji ll and Tony Gloudemans, Mark, Sarah, Luke, and Laura Frassetto, Ben and R ob Gloudemans, Nicholas, Tony, Scott, and Amy Hietpas, Ryan, Alex, and Bry nn Gloudemans, Zach and Ashley Coenen; and three step grandchildren: Linds ay (Michael) Goss, Kimberly (Justin) Musser, Sarah (Justin) Hackbarth; a nd 28 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. She will al so be missed by three sisters: Frances (Joseph) Gerrits, Mildred Vander He iden, Lorraine Daniels; three brothers-in-law: George Wydeven, William Glo udemans, Ted Van Handel; two sisters-in-law: Valeria Gloudemans, Jackie Gl oudemans; three step sisters-in-law: Margaret Schumacher, Marion Wilz, Mar gie Meulemans; two Godchildren: Bob Vander Heiden, Terri Diedrick; and num erous other nieces and nephews.Verna was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two granddaughters: Bec ky Janssen and Jill Schuler; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Gloudemans; her par ents; four brothers: John, John, Joseph (Gladys), Martin (Alice) Van Hammo nd; two sisters: Agnes Wydeven, Harriet Van Hammond; seven brothers-in-la w: Earl De Bruin, Milton Daniels, Lloyd Vander Heiden, John (Margaret) Glo udemans, Richard, Joseph, and Peter Gloudemans; four sisters-in-law: Flore nce Gloudemans, Elizabeth Van Handel, Ann (Willis) Schumacher, Martha (Elm er) Diedrick; four step brothers-in-law: Robert Schumacher, Bernie Meulema ns, Edward (Millie) Schumacher, Joe Wilz; and a step sister-in law, Elizab eth (Toots) Schumacher.A Mass in celebration of Verna's life will be held at 5 p.m. at St. John C atholic Church in Little Chute on Monday, July 10, with Rev. Father Patri ck Beno officiating. Friends may call Monday at the church from 2 p.m. unt il the time of the Mass.In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Verna's name.The family would like to give a special thank-you to the Hospice nurses, Y vonne, Astra, and especially Ellen and Donna, and to Dr. Jack Meyer for th eir assistance in helping us to care for our wife/mother during these pa st few months and to Father Patrick Beno for his visits.Honey, you were the very best wife in the world. You were always there f or me ... in the good times and the trying times. You never let me down. Y ou were just the most wonderful mother to all of our children. Your sof t, gentle smile always warmed my heart. My life is empty without you, b ut I know our children will continue to be there for me. Until we meet aga in...I'll be loving you.
