  Dorothy Ann Eslien, 94, Kaukauna, Wisconsin, formerly of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away on September 17, 2009, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Vanevenhoven of Kaukauna. Dorothy and Richard Eslien were married on February 11, 1939. She was a registered nurse and obtained her degree from St. Mary's Nursing School in Green Bay. She worked for 24 years at Winnebago State Hospital in Oshkosh. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Kaukauna, and St. Josephat Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Survivors include two sons: Jack (Karen) Eslien of Two Rivers and Greg (Simone) Eslien of Waukesha; three daughters: Kathy (Bob) Zielinski of Lakewood, Colorado; Mary Derus of Kaukauna; and Margaret Anderson of Campbell, California; and seven grandchildren: Jill and Heather Eslien, Jennifer (Jeff) Nowak; Steven and Greg (Anjali) Zielinski and Nick and Leah Derus. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Richard and son Robert. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on September 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Father Carr's Place 2B, a large facility that provides food and shelter for the homeless.
