Biography:
MATHIAS KITZINGER, who is carrying on agricultural operations on section 20, Black Creek township, where he has a fine 100-acre property, was born May 20, 1849, in Germany, and is a son of Frank and Elizabeth Kitzinger. The parents of Mr. Kitzinger came to the United States in 1860, settling in Washington county, Wisconsin, and in 1874, came to Black Creek township, Outagamie county, where Mr. Kitzinger died in September, 1895, aged sixty-nine years, while his wife passed away in September, 1906, at the age of ninetytwo, both being buried in Black Creek Cemetery. When Frank Kitzinger came to Black Creek township, he located on the property now owned by his son Mathias, and succeeded in clearing about sixty acres of the land. There are now about eighty acres under cultivation, and the log house, which was the original family home has been replaced by a handsome frame residence. The barn was built in 1896, and other buildings erected from time to time, and the farm is now considered one of the excellent tracts of this section. It is entirely fenced, well-watered and graded, and here Mr. Kitzinger carries on general farming, marketing dairy products and raising and shipping Poland-China hogs and Durham cattle.
Mathias Kitzinger was married in April, 1885, to Miss Margaret Doarfler, daughter of John and Frances Doarfler, natives of Germany who came to America about the same time as the arrival of the Kitzinger family, and settled in Outagamie county, where Mr. Doarfler passed away, the mother still surviving and living in Appleton at the age of seventy-six years. Mrs. Kitzinger, who is the eldest of her parents' ten children, was born August 16, 1860. Eleven children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Kitzinger, namely: William, who married Annie Leiskane, residing in Waupaca county; Francis, a resident of Appleton; and Peter, Elizabeth, John, Lena, Margaret, Mary, Annie, Caroline and Hilda, all single and residing at home. Mr. Kitzinger is a democrat in politics, has served three terms as supervisor of Black Creek township, and is now discharging the duties of the office of member of the school board, a position of which he has been an incumbent for many years. He and Mrs. Kitzinger are members of the Black Creek Roman Catholic Church.

Biography:
NICHOLAS F. RETTLER, who is cultivating a good tract of farming property on section 16, Black Creek township, belongs to the younger generation of agriculturists of Outagamie county, Wisconsin, where he was born August 31, 1884, a son of Nicholas and Anna Maria Rettler. The parents of Mr. Rettler, natives of Germany, were married at West Bend, Washington county, and came to Outagamie county in 1868, settling in Black Creek township, on eighty acres of land, where they lived until 1886. In this year they purchased the property on which Nicholas F. Rettler now resides, and they worked the two properties until 1898, when the first purchase was deeded to their son, John J., and in the spring of 1909, the second eighty was deeded to Nicholas F. Mr. Rettler's father died June 30, 1909, in his sixty-fifth year, while Mrs. Rettler still survives, being sixty-five years old and making her home with her son Nicholas. The father was an agriculturist all of his life, and was one of those who helped to develop this part of Outagamie county from the wilderness, his property at the time of purchase being all a wild timber and brush land. He cultivated and cleared fifty acres of the first eighty acres and sixty-three acres of the other erected buildings, built fences and in many ways made these properties handsome and comfortable homes for his sons. He and his wife were the parents of nine children, namely: Mathew, who is married and has four children, living in Black Creek township; George, single, living in Black Creek township; John J., who is married and living in Black Creek township, having eight children; Elizabeth, twin of John J., who died at the age of two and one-half years; Emma, who married John Helein, of Kaukauna, and has four children; Frank, who died in infancy; Elizabeth (II), who died at the age of two years; Margaret, who married Andrew Anderson, living in Antigo, Wisconsin, and has two children; and Nicholas F.
Nicholas F. Rettler has been operating the homestead property since the spring of 1909, and has made a number of improvements on his property. He raises large crops, farming along general lines and using scientific methods, and markets dairy products, hogs and grain. He has been successful in raising good stock and ships these to the various markets. His fraternal connection is with the Modern Woodmen of America, and in politics he is a Republican, while the family has been connected with the Catholic Church for many years. Mr. Rettler has never married.

LARGE CROWD ATTENDS FUNERAL OF MRS. JADOULE Kaukauna - The funeral of Mrs. Margaret Jadoule, 77. 702 W. Seventh st. was held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at Holy Cross Catholic church with the Msgr. P. J. Lochman in charge. Burial was in the north side Catholic cemetery. The funeral was from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Helein, 813 Oviett-st. BARNEY HELEIN, 59, DIES UNEXPECTEDLY MENASHA - Barney Helein, 59, of Rt. 2 Menash, died unexpectedly at 5 o'clock this morning at his home. He was born May 16, 1896 in Black Creek and had lived in Neenah until January of this year when he moved to Rt 2, Menasha. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Neenah Eagl es Club. Survivors are his wife, Cecila; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Birling and Mrs. Leo Johnson, both of Rt 2, Neenah; a son, Bernard, Rt 2 Menasha; one brother, Leonard, Kaukauna, and 16 grandchildren. Norman Rettler, of Appleton, age 89, one month short of his 90th birthday, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his family. Norman was born on December 21, 1925 in Black Creek, to the late Nicholas F. and Catherine (Krousa) Rettler. On June 10, 1950 he married Mary Jane Meyerhofer, celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary this year. Norman served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy between 1944 and 1946. He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Appleton.
The City of Appleton Fire Department employed him for 28 years, retiring in January of 1982. In addition he was a talented carpenter completing several houses, including his last two homes, always helping out his children with building projects.
His love of botany, hard work and travel were passed on to his family, as well as being an avid Green Bay Packer fan. His love of travel started early, and the family enjoying camping at many National Parks and traveling the U.S. In their later years Mary Jane and he took many scenic trips to various sites around the world.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Jane, and their children: Kathy (Tom) Helm of Neenah, Jeff Rettler (Sandy) of Wrightstown, Pam (Tom) Peterson of Appleton, Randy (Maggie) Rettler of Green Bay, and Kurt (Judee) Rettler of Lees Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Angela (John) Ryun and Neil (Anne) Helm; Aaron (Dori) Rettler, Amy (Brant Olson) Rettler and Alyssa Rettler; Scott (Alia) Breitengross and Jordan Peterson; Greg Rettler, Mike (Kate) Rettler, and Jim Rettler; and Monika Rettler; eight great grandchildren. Norman is further survived by his former daughter-in-law Diane Rettler, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Florence (Herbert) Stingle, Giles (Berenice), Jerome (Marcella) and Milo (Caroline) Rettler.
The funeral liturgy for Norman will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 4, 2015 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street in Appleton. Fr. Gerald Falk will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Black Creek. A time of visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am.

Florence H. Van Zummeren, Appleton, age 89, passed away on Sunday morning, February 11, 2007, at her daughter's home. She was born on June 9, 1917, in Appleton to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Kitzinger) Pleier. On October 24, 1938, she married Irving Van Zummeren and they shared 50 wonderful years before he preceded her in death on December 26, 1988. Florence was employed one time at Zwicker Knitting Mill and Tastee Bakery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Florence enjoyed reading, playing cards, especially beating Chuck at Sheepshead, Friday Night Fish Fries at the Legion Club or Darboy Club with the ladies, feeding chipmunks up north, boating and fishing with her husband Irv during what she called, "The Good Years."
She will be sadly missed by her children: Alice (Terry) Grogan, Manitowoc; Jean (Dan) Eggert, Alamogordo, NM; Mary Lou (Dennis) Vice, Appleton; Peg (Chuck) Monn, Appleton; Joe (Pat) Van Zummeren, Waupaca; Dave (Olivia) Van Zummeren, Appleton; Jim (Pat) Van Zummeren, Stafford, VA; Irv (Maggi) Van Zummeren, Swansea, IL; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Lorraine (Pleier) Hermsen, 81, Green Bay, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. She was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Appleton, to Edward and Elizabeth Pleier. Lorraine graduated from Menasha High School in 1945. On May 5, 1951, she married Robert Hermsen in Appleton. In 1959, they moved to Green Bay. Lorraine was an active member of St. Agnes Parish and was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She also volunteered at the Green Bay Dioceses. Lorraine enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming and playing cards. But most important to her were her ten children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Esther Magdeline Schnese, 86, of Kimberly, went to heaven on April 13, 2016. She is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Esther was born on September 1, 1929 to Edward and Elizabeth (Kitzinger) Pleier. On October 11, 1952 she married Marvin H. Schnese who she met through the Don Bosco Club. They enjoyed 47 years together in marriage until Marvin's death on July 1, 1998.
Family was important to Esther. She enjoyed travelling from a young age, going to Washington DC with her girlfriends during high school. She worked at Kimberly Clark, at the Kimberly facility in the personnel department. When she started a family of her own vacations included memorable trips to Iron Mountain with a large order of Hot Dogs at Dog'N Suds, Peshtigo Fire and a far reaching trip to Yellowstone National Park and the weekend trips to the trailer at Berry Lake. She enjoyed bowling and dancing with her husband Marvin. She donated time and treasure to Mothers and Unborn Baby care, Inc. in Appleton which she championed for many years. After Marvin's death she reached out to the Widows of Prayer for comfort and support.

Edna M. Schwalbach, 72, of Seymour, formerly of Black Creek, passed away e arly Thursday morning, August 10, 2006, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Hom e, Seymour. She was born August 30, 1933, in Black Creek, the daught er of the late John and Irene (Plutz) Kitzinger. On October 26, 1963, s he was united in marriage to Harold Schwalbach.
Edna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek; and she w as an avid Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, New London; her sister, Margaret W illenkamp, Appleton; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, niec es and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Bernard, Donald, N orbert; also, her sisters: Lucille Kauth, Helen Spaude, and Bernice Knaac k.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 301 E. Burdick St., Bla ck Creek, from 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006, until the time of serv ices at 11 a.m., with Father Theodore J. Hazel Egan, 91, Kaukauna, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at St. Paul Home. Hazel was born Jan. 10, 1916, to the late Bert and
Elizabeth (Fries) Egan in Green Bay. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1934 and continued her education at night school in Appleton and Kaukauna. Hazel's lifelong love was Kaukauna High School; she faithfully worked for the school district for 30+ years as a secretary to the principal. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and active with the Catholic Order of Foresters.
She is survived by many relatives and friends, Jim and Arlene Egan, Barb Egan, Linda Egan, George and Jane Egan, Diane and Tom Simon and family, James Egan, Liz Egan and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Elizabeth Egan; and her sister, Jeanne Egan.
Hazel's Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on TUESDAY, May 1, 2007, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack T. Mullarkey officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday at Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Parish. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.

John was born on Oc tober 10, 1910 in Mackville, Wisconsin. He was the son of John W. and Odel ia M. (Fries) Baumann. John attended St. Edward Elementary School in Mackv ille, St Joseph High School, and St. Norbert College where he was also a G olden Gloves Boxer. His many jobs included working at a ship yard in Sturg eon Bay, working at Northshore Golf Course, Badger-Globe Mill, Consolidat ed Papers, and finally at the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton whe re he did research work until his retirement. On April 27, 1946 he marri ed Ann Marie Roovers.Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Don (special friend Lin da Liesch) of Bear Creek, Sharon (Jim) Van Roy of Appleton, Nancy (Ken) Kr ueger of Appleton, Steve (Shelley) Baumann of Appleton, and Jim Bauma nn of Kimberly. Silverius "Silver" Baumann, 95, Neenah, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1912, in Mackville, son of William and Odelia (Fries) Baumann. Silver married Leah St. Cyr September 30, 1939, and they were happily married for 57 years before she preceded him in death in 1996. Silver was employed by Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Badger Globe for many years prior to his retirement. He was a man of many talents. For many years his second job was that of a landscaper for several families in Neenah. He also enjoyed gardening at home and kept up a big garden and many flower beds. People always passed his house to admire his flowers and get some advice on how to plant and cultivate a garden. He truly had a green thumb. Silver was always very proud of his gardens and flower beds, he also was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed hunting on his land in Dale until he was 92. Silver was a member of St. Gabriel parish and went to church every Sunday until his health started to fail him. He will always be best known for his upbeat and happy disposition. He loved to make people laugh and smile. He brought out the best in everyone. He loved to tell his stories about the past, growing up in a large family and some of the crazy times that he did this or when he did that. He entertained us all with his funny stories and he never told the same story twice. He will truly be missed by everyone who touched his life. He was a jolly man with a heart of gold. And, he was kind, ready to help anyone in need, and a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Alice Therese Romenesko died on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007. Alice was born Aug. 20, 1914, to the late John W. and Odelia (Fries) Baumann in Mackville. Alice married Clem Romenesko on Nov. 21, 1933, in Mackville, and celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary in 1999 shortly before Clem's death. Alice and Clem settled in Kaukauna and purchased a farm in 1942, which is where they resided until 1957; they then moved to their current address in Appleton. Alice and Clem successfully owned and operated a livestock business, The Appleton Meat Packing Company, and The Romenesko Mobile Home Park. Alice lived a long, fruitful life with an extensive family. In her later years, her eldest son, Ron, was her caregiver and friend, taking her to all events, appointments, and church, as well as many performances at the Performing Arts Center, which Alice enjoyed to the utmost. Alice loved traveling, visiting all of the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Alice was treated royally while visiting her daughter and family in Canada, and returned happy and refreshed. She also enjoyed her frequent trips to the East Coast to visit her daughter where Newport, Rhode Island, was her favorite place. She enjoyed spending time with her local family baking, visiting, and shopping. Some of Alice's interests, included reading, crafts, baking, watching Wheel of Fortune, and the History Channel. Alice was a longtime member of the Christian Mothers Society.
Survivors include nine children, Ron, Appleton; Lee (Darlene), Little Chute; June Geiger, Appleton; Bonnie (Richard) Byford, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Del (Diane), Kernersville, N.C.; Dean, Los Angeles, Calif.; Neil, Oshkosh; Bev, Plainville, Conn.; Noreen (Tommie) Thomas, Appleton; seven grandchildren, Bruce (Chris) Romenesko, Brenda (Joe) Nicolais, Joy (Jeff) Sim, Dawn (John H. Jr.) Grote, Sue Byford, Sarah Byford, and Sonya Schilcher; eight great-grandchildren, Jason, Brittany Romenesko, Stephanie and Aaron Nicolais, Christine Nelson, Lexi and Lia Sim and Sarah Grote; two great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Trevor Nelson. Alice is further survived by two brothers, Silver and Harold Baumann, and two sisters, Sister Mary Florian, and Mary (Leonard) Tennie.

Age 84, passed away at his residence June 11, 2002. He was born October 30, 1917 at Appleton, the son of William & Odelia (Fries) Baumann. On June 18, 1941 Cyril married Evelyn Wittlin and together they resided and farmed in the Mackville area. Mr. Baumann had been employed with the Institute of Paper Chemistry and Fox Tractor Co. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always ready to help anyone and always mowed all our lawns. He was always there for everyone who needed him. Cyril was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church of Mackville where he was an usher and trustee for many years and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include four daughters: Sandy (Gary) Kohl, Appleton; Lynn (Don) Nelson, Hortonville; Pat (Gordy) Huettl, Hortonville; Tracy (Dave) Maass, Shiocton. Two sons: Tom (Sandy) Baumann, Hortonville; and Jeff (Vickie) Baumann, Appleton. Three brothers: Harold, Appleton; John, Kimberly; and Silver, Neenah. Harold T. Baumann, age 86, of Mackville, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Carolina Manor. Harold was born in Mackville, at home on the family farm, October 4, 1920, the son of the late John W. and Odelia (Fries) Baumann. He resided in Mackville all of his life and graduated from St. Edward Catholic School. On May 17, 1944, Harold was united in marriage to Ethel Wittlin, sharing 51 years together before her death on August 28, 1995. Harold farmed in Mackville for many years and also worked at Fox Tractor for over 35 years. He had a lifelong love for farming and International tractors. Harold will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, eating at Mary's Family Restaurant, playing Sheepshead, and his Farmall H.
Harold was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville and in later years was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton.

Sister Mary Florian Baumann, 87, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the convent.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Mackville, Wis., daughter of the late John William and Odelia (Fries) Baumann. Sister Mary Florian earned a Bachelor of Arts from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. The former Adelle Rose Baumann entered the convent in 1941 and professed her vows in 1944. Sister Mary Florian served as an elementary teacher at St. Therese, Appleton, St. Wensel, Cleveland, St. Mary, Brillion, St. John Antigo, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Joseph & St. Boniface, Manitowoc, St. Mary, Clark Mills, St. Mary, Greenleaf, Wisconsin; St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Catholic Central, Menominee, St Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Michigan. After retiring from teaching, she served as coordinator of Projects for the Poor and helper in the Craft Room at Holy Family Convent. Since 2006, she has preformed variety of tasks at the Motherhouse, Manitowoc.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister, Mary (Leonard) Tennie, Shiocton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.

LaRose J. VandenLangenberg, 94, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 2016, at Shepherd Inn in Seymour, with her family by her side. She was born July 4, 1921, daughter of Christopher (Ed) and Mae (Fries) Mullen. She graduated from Nicolet High School in West De Pere in 1939. On April 28, 1941, she married Bernard L. VandenLangenberg, who preceded her in death April 19, 1990. LaRose always thought of others before herself, and she put her faith and family first. She will be remembered for nourishing us, not just with food, but with kindness and good humor. She is survived by five sons Don and Ardis, Glen and Brenda, Ed and Julie, Tom and Lisa, and Rob and Brenda VandenLangenberg; eight daughters Patricia and David Andrews, Jeanette and Rich Dunks, Bernice and Bob Beaudoin, Karen and Don Lambert, Mary Kay and Jim Cleven, Lynn VandenLangenberg and Dave Cluckey, Michele and Don Butter, Amy and Scott Bartelme; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Claudia Dell Vogel-Gray, age 82, of Appleton passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. She was born February 22, 1931 daughter of the late Arthur and Tess (Fries) Gerl in Black Creek, WI.
Claudia graduated from North High School in Sheboygan in 1950. In 1951 she graduated from the Cradle Hospital School of Evenston, IL.
Claudia worked at Theda Clark Hospital in the nursery, Wolfreds, Carlson's Closet, Westover House and volunteered at Memorial Park Arboritum Gardens Gift Shop and Community Clothes Closet.
She was married to James C. Vogel in 1951. On October 1, 1991, she was united in marriage to Allen Gray. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2006.

Bergman, Mary Ellen (Williamsen) Mary Ellen Bergman, age 76, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Mary Ellen was born on April 29, 1931, to Raymond and Jeanette Williamsen, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Mary Ellen graduated from Appleton West High School in 1949. On July 12, 1951, Mary Ellen married Robert Bergman at St. Therese Church in Appleton, and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. They spent their first year of marriage in Panama where Bob served in the Army before returning to Appleton.
Mary Ellen was a member of St. Joseph Church and belonged to the Monte Alverno Guild. After raising their three children, Mary Ellen worked as a seamstress for many years. She was a fun loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be dearly missed. Even during her illness, she never lost her sense of humor and was always willing to listen and try to solve every crisis large or small.
She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Bob; a son, Jim, Appleton; two daughters: Sandy (Kirk) Nichols and Shari (Greg) Anderson, both Appleton. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Ashley Bergman, Luke Anderson, Sam Anderson and Lily Nichols; four step-grandchildren: Jason (Callie) Lauer, Jacquelyn (Matt) McQuaid, Jon Nichols and Joe (Catherine) Nichols; and three step-great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Samantha and Scout. Other survivors include: sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Hietpas; and brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Donna Petersen; as well as many nieces and nephews: Bob, Bruce, Brian and Blaine Lyons; Lynn McCrary, Barb Johnson, Shawn Hietpas, Brenda Lythjohan, Lori Stiljes, Kelly VerBust, Dan Petersen and Margie Petersen-White.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jeanette Williamsen; a sister, Barbara Petersen; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Peter Bergman; sister-in-law, Genevieve Bergman-Lyons; and brother-in-law, Eugene Bergman.

Jean L. Knauf, age 89 of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Thedacare Hospice, Cherry Meadows following a brief struggle with cancer. Jean was born on January 8, 1927 to Harold and Laura (Missling) Rettler of Appleton and graduated from West High School in 1944. After graduation, she worked for Tuttle Press Company, then went to the School of Business (currently Fox Valley Technical College) in Appleton for Business Management, Accounting, and secretarial training.
Jean was employed at St. Lawrence University of the Liberal Arts and Conservatory Music College as a secretary for the cafeteria food administration department for 10 years. She also worked as a secretary for the Calumet County Park Ski Club in 1955, where she met Nicholas T. Knauf of Chilton. They married on September 15, 1956 and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Jean enjoyed being a good mother and wife, raising four children and making sure they always had a hot lunch to come home to during their formative school years, which was so appreciated by the kids and her husband. She was skilled at canning and freezing her garden produce, making preserves, and loved baking cookies and candy, which her family enjoyed immensely. She loved going up north to their cottage on Horse Head Lake in Oneida County to enjoy nature, fishing and boating.
Jean was the precise accountant and book-keeper of the family, a much appreciated skill also learned from her mother as the accountant of her family's business: Rettler Distributing.
Jean was a detailed seamstress and dabbled in upholstery to make special gifts for her children. She enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, playing cards and picnics in the park. She loved family gatherings around the dinner table and was so giving and generous to her family and grandchildren. She always taught family to work hard at doing good; to be honest, caring, and lead by example; to be determined to do the best you can in your life for as long as you can, without undue complaint.
Jean is survived by her husband, Nicholas T. Knauf, age 92 of Neenah; and their four children: son, Karl Knauf and his wife Francie Wesley of Madison; daughter, Laurie and her husband Rory Givens of Appleton; son Gary Knauf and his wife Stephanie Ridgeway-Knauf of Bear Creek; and son, Mark Knauf of Oshkosh. She is further survived by her brother Dick Rettler of Appleton; five grandchildren: Dr. Marcella Knauf; Nick Knauf; Jeanne Knauf; John Knauf and his wife Qianwei Ren-Knauf; and Caressa Givens; and great-grandson, William Bhend.

Obituary:
Greenville - Norman J. Rettler, age 80, of Greenville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 12, 2018. He was born in Appleton on July 20, 1937, son of the late Melvin and Mary (Janssen) Rettler. Following high school, Norm proudly served his country in the Air Force for four years. After returning from the service, Norm married the love of his life, Carol Tourville, on September 30, 1961.
Norm worked for 46 years at Asten Johnson Forming Fabrics. After retirement, he and Carol spent 11 wonderful years in Sun City West, AZ. Norm took up woodworking and made countless special gifts for his family and friends. Many memories were made while boating, snowmobiling and fishing. He also spent many hours tending to his garden which he so enjoyed. Norm was a great, loyal friend to many people. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather and his family meant everything to him. He will be missed deeply.
Norm is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol; his children: Sandra (special friend, Mark Servia) Rettler, Duane (Lynn) Rettler and Ryan (Nina) Rettler; grandchildren: Amber Rettler, Jessica (Eric) Kundinger, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jacob Rettler; siblings: Rita Peters and Dan (Maija) Rettler; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack (Bev) Tourville, Barbara Tourville, Joan Steeves, Margaret Mullins and Mickey Simpson; and many nieces and nephews that adored their uncle Norm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mary; a brother, Marvin (Diane) Rettler; father and mother-in-law, Ransom and Theresa Tourville; brothers-in-law: Robert and Duane Tourville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at St. Michael's Church, 1784 Chapelle Rue, De Pere. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Norm's name. HILLSBORO, Wis. - Roman A. JaDoul, 85, of rural Kendall, Wis., passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born Jan. 17, 1917, to Peter and Margaret (Helein) JaDoul in Kaukauna, Wis. He grew up in the Kaukauna area and later the La Farge area. He was united in marriage on Sept. 17, 1940, to Gracie Nale at St. John's Catholic Church at Dilly. They operated a dairy farm in the town of Hillsboro for many years. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1998. He was a member of St. John's, St. Joseph's, and currently St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret (Bob) Leis of Kendall; a son, Charles R. (Judy) JaDoul of Kendall; four grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Ziese, Brent (Jenica) Ziese, Joline (Randy) Nelson and Charles A. (Laurie) JaDoul; 10 great-grandchildren, Jay, Hunter and Gabrielle Ziese, Ethan and Courtney Nelson, Tyler White, Nicholas, Alisha, Alexis and Charles I. JaDoul; a sister, Lucille Sturm of Green Bay; and two sisters-in-law, Theresa JaDoul of New Lisbon and Nancy JaDoul of Weyerhauser.
In addition to his wife, Gracie, he was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Corrine JaDoul; and three brothers, Arthur, Melvin and Edward JaDoul.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Wayne Kidd and Father James McNamee officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at Mount Tabor. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Bible vigil held at 8 p.m

Bernice A. Cross, age 78, of Menasha passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2011 after a lingering illness. Bernice "Tiny" was born August 8, 1932. Throughout her life she was hard-working and dependable.
Bernice was a warm, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was very sweet-natured, kind, and generous. She loved NASCAR and listening to her scanner. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.

Elsie E. Johnson, 76, Neenah, passed away on Friday evening, Aug. 5, 2011, at her home. She was born on Feb. 10, 1935, in Neenah, daughter of the late Barney and Celia (Pomroy) Helein. In 1953, she married Leo Johnson in Neenah and he preceded her in death in 1975. In 1985, Elsie re-married E. Wayne Johnson in Elderon, Wis.
Elsie was a loving, devoted mother who gave her life to her children and grandchildren. She was described as a "neat freak" and enjoyed flowers, crafts, gardening and walking with her husband and her beloved dogs.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, E. Wayne Johnson; her children, Leo, Jr. (Sue) Johnson, Manawa; Vicky (Jeff) Reffke, Neenah; Gail (Jeff) Huss, Hortonville; step-children, Ronald Johnson, Neenah; Diane Johnson, Neenah; Susan Lynn (Peter) Guckenberg, Omro; Daniel (Peggy) Johnson, Amberg; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, LaVerne Helein, Menasha; and brothers-in-law, Ted Birling, Clintonville; William (Carol) Johnson, Menasha; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, Leo, Sr., she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tracy Huss; sisters, Dorothy Birling, Betty Scheidermayer, Bernice "Tiny" Cross; and her brother, Bernard Helein.
The memorial service for Elsie will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with the Rev. David L. Skarsten officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest in St. Margaret Cemetery next to Leo, Sr.

He was born August 30, 1915 in K aukauna, son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Helein) Ward. Koby married t he former Marie (nee Byrd) Akeman on January 23, 1964 at Holy Cross Chur ch in Kaukauna; she preceded him in death in 1996. He retired as Assista nt Chief of the City of Kaukauna Fire Department in December, 1974. Both p rior to and after his retirement, Koby and Marie enjoyed many happy yea rs at their cottage at White Potato Lake. They also spent six wonderful ye ars in Sunsites, Arizona, where they made many new friends, but return ed to Wisconsin to rekindle old friendships when Marie became ill. Koby al so enjoyed being a part-time bartender at The Hyland House and Willie's Ce dar Cellar. Donna M. Helein, age 79, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was born on December 4, 1934, to the late Leonard and Adriana Helein and resided in Kaukauna her whole life. Donna enjoyed keeping her mind active by reading and doing crosswords and word searches. She especially loved spending time with her family and being close to all of them. Donna was loved dearly by her family, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Debra Helein, Jim (Donnetta) Helein, Steve (Cindy) Helein, Cheryl (Ben) Stern, and John (Analyn) Helein; great-nieces and nephews, Michelle (Matt) Leith, Jason (Jill Van Asten) Wheelock, Jackie (Damian) Raleigh, Nicole (Corey) Berkers, Rachel (David) Schon, Amy Helein, Quinn Helein, Taryn Helein, Brieann Helein, and Michael Helein; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews. Obituary:
James N. Rettler, 62, Black Creek, passed away Friday morning July 29, 2005 at Weyauwega Health Center. He was born August 5, 1942 son of Marcella (Stephani) Rettler and the late Jerome Rettler. On December 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to Catherine Schroeder.
Jim was a proud member of the Operating Engineers local 139 since 1964. He was a long time member of the Black Creek Fire Department. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was an Army Reserve veteran and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek.
A loving son, husband, father and grandfather is survived by his wife, Cathy, his children: Nicholas (Allison), Kaukauna; Jesse, Black Creek; and Jodi Marie Rettler, Black Creek. Three grandchildren: Alex, Darian, and Nichole and one soon to be granddaughter. Also surviving is his mother Marcella, Black Creek; sisters: Dorothy (Bill) Paltzer and Gloria Krueger of Black Creek; brothers: Dan (Sheri), Duane (Joyce), Steve (Nancy), all of Black Creek; and Dave (special friend Kris) Seymour; and Dick (JoAnn), Menasha; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Shirley Siewert, Donna Shepard, Fred (Kathy) Schroeder, Larry (Margaret) Schroeder, Joann (Roland) Gasser, Bill (Cindy) Schroeder, Dennis (Pat) Schroeder, Pat (Lyle) Shepard, Diane (David) Bunnell and Rick (Carol) Schroeder. A sister-in-law, Carol, Black Creek. Numerous nieces and nephews and God Children.
James was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a nephew, Scott, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Marie Schroeder and three brothers-in-law: John VanDenBogart, Merton Shepard and William Siewart.

David R. Rettler, age 58, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday night, August 25, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was born September 18, 1950, to the late Jerome and Marcella (Stephani) Rettler. Dave was a graduate of Seymour High School and Navy Vietnam Veteran. For 27 years he owned and operated Dave's Tavern in Black Creek.
He was a Black Creek American Legion and VFW member. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Tavern League. Dave was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, enjoyed riding his bike and especially time spent with his grandchildren at the camper.
Survivors include his special friend Kris Kimball; his children, Denae Rettler, and her children, Kyle and Josh; Geri Lynn Rettler (special friend Jody Vanevenhoven); sisters and brothers: Dorothy (Bill) Paltzer, Black Creek; Daniel (Sheri) Rettler, Black Creek; Duane (Joyce) Rettler, Black Creek; Gloria Krueger, Black Creek; Steven (Nancy) Rettler, Black Creek; Richard (JoAnn) Rettler, Menasha; sister-in-law, Cathy Rettler, Black Creek; friend Carol Rettler; and his many nieces and nephews.

Black Creek - Terry Lee Rettler age 74 passed away at his home on March 14, 2018.
Terry was born August 30, 1943, the first child of Mile and Caroline (Stephani) Rettler. Terry was a 1961 graduate of Seymour High School. One June 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sandy Kitzman. Terry worked at O.J. Boldt Construction, served on the Black Creek Village board for 15 years and served in the Army National Guard. Terry was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, WI.
Terry will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; son, Todd (Melissa) Rettler; daughter, Tracy (Chris) Prilepp; granddaughters: Brianna Prilepp, Kira and Hannah Rettler; grandson, Braeden Prilepp; brothers: Sam (Mary) Rettler, Bill (Maryann) Rettler, brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Kitzman; sisters-in- law: Bonnie (Terry) McDermott, Nancy (Dennis) Hack, Debbie (Chuck) Elliott; along with many nieces and nephews.

Carol Neuman, 62, Mosinee, formerly of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. She was born on May 2, 1948, in Black Creek, the daughter of the late Leslie and Corinne (Roche) Kitzinger. On May 13, 1972, Carol married Emil Neuman at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed gardening, picking raspberries, rummage sales, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Emil Neuman, Mosinee; sisters, Betty (Al) Hottensine, Freedom, Joan (Jerry) Kizewski, Mosinee and Barbara Balthazor, Appleton; brothers, Ron (fiancee Mary Carew) Kitzinger and Ken (Pam) Kitzinger, both of Appleton; and special niece, Ashley Buss, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, who all loved her dearly, other relatives and friends.

Joseph E. Van Zummeren, age 76, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. Joe was born in Appleton on December 9, 1939, the son of the late Irv and Florence (Pleier) Van Zummeren. On July 15, 1961, Joe married Patricia Murphy in Appleton. He worked for over 35 years for the Red Owl Grocery Stores. He then worked for Badger Metals, Inc. in sales for 20 years, retiring in 2014. Joe was a US Army veteran and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca.

William "Bill" J. Kitzinger 67, New Franken passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home. Bill was born on December 23, 1948 in Kewaunee, the son of the now late Norbert and Dorothy (Lipsky) Kitzinger. He served his country in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Bill married the former Marjorie A. Tombal on December 4, 1971 and together they had 4 children. He was employed as a machinist all of his life and retired from Paper Converting Machine Company. Bill loved the outdoors and was fond of hunting but especially enjoyed the times spent fishing. He was an avid trap-shooter and greatly enjoyed his membership in various leagues and loved trying to compete with his son. Bill always enjoyed animals and never missed an opportunity to visit his daughters dog kennel and play with them. Appleton - James Lee Kauth, 65, of Appleton died Wednesday June 20, 2018 at Elderlodge, Neenah. He was born in Appleton on June 19, 1953, son of the late Anton and Lucille (Kitzinger) Kauth.
James started working as an auto mechanic when he was still in high school and later worked at Pierce Manufacturing retiring after 18 years. He volunteered his time and many talents to several local establishments. James accumulated over 2000 hours volunteering at the Food Pantry, 1000 of those hours were as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He was known as "Fleet Farm Jim" for ringing there each year almost exclusively. James was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Appleton where he served as Lector and helped volunteer with Bingo. He was also active with "Big Brothers, Big Sisters" of the Fox Valley. When James did have free time he enjoyed playing softball, hockey and bowling, in which he accumulated many trophies throughout the years.
James is survived by his sister, Jeanne (Mark) Becker, Menasha; three brothers: John (Nancy), Appleton, Jerry, Appleton and Joe, Milwaukee; six nieces and nephews: Jason (Laura), Dawn (Brian) Buelow, Kevin (Nicole), Gina Binversie, Elizabeth and Tony; and seven great nieces and great nephews: Izabella, Noah, Isaiah, Kyla, Cora, Kaylee and Brayden.
A private family service for James will be held.

Kitzinger, Robert J.
Robert J. Kitzinger, Black Creek, age 42, passed away early Saturday morning, April 21, 2007, at his mother's home with his family by his side. He was born September 3, 1964, in Appleton, the son of Betty Kitzinger Klarner and the late Bernard Kitzinger. Bob was baptized, celebrated his 1st Communion and confirmation at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek. He was a 1983 graduate of Seymour High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his Harley, NASCAR racing, watching Packer and Badger games and his hobby was wood burning and cooking.
He is survived by his mother, Betty; two brothers: Bryce Kitzinger, Black Creek; Perry (Connie) Kitzinger, Appleton; two sisters, Jill (Daniel) Dobbe, Shawano; Lisa (Kurt) Wilmot, Appleton. He was a much loved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Trent, Nicole, Ian, Ali, Chelsea, Brittany, and Ethan. He is further survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins; and by his special dogs, Buddy and Hootie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; and his stepfather, Roy Klarner.

Fischer, Elizabeth (Betty) Today we celebrate the life of Elizabeth (Betty) Theresa Fischer (Baumann) (82), wife of Jerry Fischer. She was the mother of five, grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother of twelve. Betty passed away in her sleep with her family remaining at her bedside providing comfort.
Her husband's devotion to her was always evident, especially in the last 10 years of her declining health. Sixty-two years ago their life journey began with each other and eventually their 5 children. There were many trips in the Buick station wagon to the cottage for summer vacations and to their land near Fremont for walks through the woods on weekends.
Betty also cherished her time with her sisters and brothers. Having 11 siblings meant there was always a birthday to celebrate, along with lots of laughter and pranks. Betty was never afraid to get her hands dirty. Growing up the daughter of a farmer during the depression, her favorite times were spent working in the barn alongside her dad.
Betty was an adventurer: in her 40's she tried snow skiing, her 50's para-sailing, her 60's biking down a Hawaiian Volcano, and at 70 she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane! Betty enjoyed square dancing, golfing, cards and a lucky pull at the slot machine. Betty was not your typical stay at home mom; while taking care of her children she also renovated old homes long before "house-flipping" became a real estate term. She helped her husband with the books at the dairy and manned the store when needed. Retirement brought days of leisure spent with her husband and large family.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on April 3rd, 2015 with a Memorial Service to follow starting at 7:00PM, at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton. Family and close friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life. In lieu of flowers, please find a person in need and make their day brighter in some small way, because that is something Betty would have done. A mass will be held in Betty's honor, at Holy Hill, at a later date.

Jane F. Romenesko, Little Chute, age 83, was called to the Lord with her family by her side Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Little Chute on May 26, 1932 to the late John and Phyllis (Bauman) Smits. Jane married the love of her life and inseparable partner, Eugene Romenesko, on February 6, 1952 at Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2009.
Jane was a devoted mother of eleven children, and together with Gene, they became active members of St. John's parish and raised the kids with a strong catholic faith. On any given Sunday they could be seen filing into church in their Sunday best.
Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. With her unselfish love she was the glue that held the family together. As a young wife and mother much of Jane's time was spent supporting Gene as he started and advanced his many business ventures. Jane's partnership and sacrifice were essential to Gene's success and "Mom's" love and devotion to "Dad" and her family were inspiring.
Together Mom and Dad were blessed with many family and friends that they enjoyed spending time with boating, golfing and traveling. Summers were often spent with weekends at the family cottage, first on Alpine Lake and later Lake Poygan. Mom especially loved the summer holidays when all the kids and grandkids would come up for the extended weekends. For Mom, these weekends were a lot of work, but for her it was a labor of love. Nothing made her happier than to see her family together. They also looked forward to attending their children's and grandchildren's many sporting events and activities, always staying until the end to provide a word of encouragement and a dollar for support.
Later in life Mom and Dad spent time at their winter condo in Venice, Florida where they would enjoy catching up with old friends, taking drives and spending time "down by the jetty". After Dad's passing, Mom remained devoted to her family and remained social with her many friends as well as going out for lunch and dinner with family. She would also find great comfort and joy in feeding the many birds, deer and other animals who would visit her backyard.
Jane is survived by 9 of her 11 children: Pat (Marv) Janssen, Little Chute; Mike (Gail), Little Chute; Jerry (Bev), Kimberly; Tom (Carol), Kaukauna; Jack (Sandy), Kaukauna; Jill (Ron) Tiedt, Little Chute; Dan (Mary), Little Chute; Dave (Kim), Little Chute; and Jan (Troy) Hietpas, Little Chute; daughter-in-law: Polly Romenesko, Kaukauna; 31 grandchildren: Shawna (Kevin) Kerrigan, Travis (Sarah), Jessica and Aaron (Becky) Janssen, Brittany (Jeff) Farber, Brooke (Scott) Tuska, Chelsea (Dan) Gostisha, Blake, Eric (Kim), Scott (Jamie), Tami and Matt (Jenny) Romenesko, Stacey (Tony) Vanden Boogard, Amy (Jeff) Schechterle, Carly and Natalie Romenesko, Dacia (Eric) Hermes, Melissa (Scott) Barribeau, Tricia (Zack) Bons, Patrick Tiedt, Megan (Tim) McMahon, Emily (Matt) Hietpas, Michael and Tyler (Lisa) Romenesko, Marki (Mark) Forstner, Kirsti, Katie, Nicholas (Beth) and Melani Romenesko, Derek and Samuel Hietpas; 28 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Carol Wulterkens, Joyce (Jim) Williams, Ken (Jan) and Florian (Grace) Smits; brothers and sisters-in-law: Phyllis Smits, Don (Barb) Romenesko, Carol Tourville, Mary Mahn, Jim (Sue) Romenesko, Alice (Roger) Wynboom and Carl (Alice) Romenesko;
In addition to her parents and husband, Gene, Jane was preceded in death by her sons: Ron and Don; brothers: Sonny (infant), Jack and Ron Smits; father and mother-in-law: Leonard and Geraldine Romenesko; and brothers-in-law: Hank Wulterkens, Claude Tourville and Don Mahn.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. John Smits, of Combined Locks, age 71, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on Thursday morning, April 26, 2007. John was born Feb-ruary 28, 1936 in Appleton, son of the late John and Phyllis (Baumann) Smits. On June 5, 1957, he married the former Elizabeth "Liz" Smith at St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks. He served as an usher at St. Paul's for over thirty years. John loved woodworking, fishing, spending time at his summer place near Crandon, and spending the winter months in Alabama. He will also be remembered for enjoying word puzzles and for being an enthusiastic Packer fan, through thick and thin. For over thirty years he was a member of the Combined Locks Fire Department. During those same years, he worked as a service technician at Van Vreede TV and Appliance finally retiring from Miller Electric after working there for ten years.
John is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Liz Smits of Combined Locks; three children: Sandra Lee (Richard) Bast of Sherwood; Kristie Jo Smits of Appleton; and James John Smits of Appleton; three sisters: Jane (Eugene) Romenesko of Little Chute; Carol (Hank) Wulterkens of Combined Locks; and Joyce (Jim) Williams of Hilbert; two brothers: Ken (Jan) Smits of Combined Locks and Florian (Grace) Smits of Winneconne; a brother-in-law, Edd (Karen) Smith of Combined Locks; three sisters-in-law: Phyllis Smits of Kimberly; Mary Jo Smith of Florida; and Theresa Smith of Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers: Ron Smits and Clarus Smits.
The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2007, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks, with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends directly at the church on Monday, from 2 p.m. until the hour of the services.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to everyone at St. Elizabeth Hospital, but the very special people in the ICU and the 4th floor will always be remembered for their compassion and special care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
