Gerrits, Mildred J.Mildred J. Gerrits, 84, of De Pere, passed into her eternal reward Ju ly 3, 2002, at an area nursing home. Mildred was born May 1, 1918, in De P ere, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Thomson) Albers. On Apr il 27, 1937, she married Clarence Gerrits at St. Boniface Catholic Chur ch in De Pere. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1989. Mildred farmed f or many years with her husband in the De Pere area until their retiremen t. She enjoyed playing cards, growing flowers, and doing crafts. Mildred e specially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchil dren.Mildred is survived by six children, James and Gail, Green Bay; Gerald, Jo hn and Barbara, Kenneth and Mary Jo, all of De Pere; Jane and Gary Van D er Wegen of Green Bay and Paul and Sue, Neenah; 17 grandchildren and 15 gr andchildren; three brothers Bud and Audrey of De Pere; Louis and Lorrai ne of De Pere; Bob and Agatha of Bellevue; one sister Lillian Moor en of De Pere; two sisters-in-law Margaret Albers of De Pere and Mae Vand en Hoogen of Green Bay; other relatives and numerous nieces and nephews.Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers Edwa rd, Leo and Henry; and two sisters Loretta and Minnie.Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th St., De Pere, Friday, J uly 5, 2002, from 4 to 8 pm. She is survived by her family, Shirley (Jim) Rentmeester, Elaine (Ron) Green, Patricia (Jerry) Ambrosius, Sylvester "Jupe" (Judy) Mooren Jr., her daughter-in-law, Ella Mooren, 16 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wilber (Audrey) Albers, and five sisters-in- law, Mae Vanden Hoogen, Agatha Albers, Lorraine Albers, Ethel Mooren, and Josephine Mooren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, David, her brothers, Louis, Ed (Margaret), Henry, Leo (Agatha), and Bob. Lillian is further preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta (Joe) Denk, Mildred (Clarence) Gerrits, and Minnie (Joe) Thyssen.
Visitation for Lillian will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. (TODAY) Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating, and Deacon Michael VanderBloomen assisting. Wilbert E. "Bud" Albers, 90, of De Pere, died Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 28, 2013. The son of the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers was born March 27, 1923 in De Pere. On September 5, 1946, he married the former Audrey Ann Kieffer in Freedom.
Bud served his country in the US Army during WWII. A Decorated Veteran, Sgt. Albers served in the Third Army and received four Battle Stars: France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Battle of the Bulge.
Following his service years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator at Daanen and Janssen retiring after forty years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards. Bud was a loyal, proud member of De Pere VFW Post 2113.
Survivors include his wife Audrey, their children, Bonnie (Dick) Moyse, Tom (Sue) Albers, Dale (Martha) Albers, and Ken (Betsy) Albers, grandchildren, Ann, David (Kris), Dan, John (fiancé, Sara), Valerie (Bill Harrington), Aaron, Emma and great granddaughters, Zoey and Fara. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Agatha and Lorraine Albers, Eva, Ruth, and Mary Kieffer. Bud was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Edward (Margaret) Albers, Leo (Agatha) Albers, Henry (Mae) Albers, Louis Albers, Robert Albers, Joseph (Loretta) Denk, Joseph (Minnie) Thyssen, Clarence (Mildred) Gerrits, brothers-in-law, Sylvester (Lillian) Mooren and Herman Vanden Hogen. Louis L. Albers, 81, De Pere passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2006, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1925, in West De Pere to the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers. He married the former Lorraine Linssen on Nov. 23, 1950, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Green Bay. Louis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the De Pere VFW Post 2113. Louis was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Louis was a union heavy equipment operator all his life. He enjoyed playing cards on Tuesdays with his buddies at the VFW Club in Bellevue. Louis loved to follow De Pere High School sports as well as the Packers.

Hockers, Grace M.
Grace M. Hockers, 80, De Pere, passed away Sunday morning at a local hospi tal after a long illness. She was born July 30, 1923, in De Pere, to the l ate Joseph and Nettie (Baeten) Aerts. On June 18, 1947 Fr. Harold Hocke rs united her in marriage to Don Hockers at St. Boniface Catholic Churc h, De Pere. Grace was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmothe r. She loved to sew and crochet, and was a wonderful cook as well as a won derful fisherman. Grace loved to take rides in the fall to see all of t he beautiful colors. She also looked forward to her monthly lunches with h er friends. Grace was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churc h, De Pere. She was a very strong person and earned the respect of her hus band and children, and was a hero to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Don; her children, Linda (Steve) Vande He i, De Pere, and their children Erin and Renee; Leland (Cynthia) Hockers, O conto and their children, Alan and Emily; Tim (Barb) Hockers, De Pere a nd their children, Curt, Brian, and Eric; and David (Jane) Hockers, Brilli on and their children, Anthony and Matthew; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette ( Joseph) Glowacki, and June Aerts. Numerous nieces and nephews and membe rs of Don's family further survive Grace.
Two brothers, Carl and Harvey Aerts, preceded Grace in death.

Joan A. Haen, (nee Baeten), Oshkosh formerly of Fond du Lac and Kaukauna, age 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh with her loving family by her side. She was born October 12, 1929, daughter of the late Christian and Viola (Hockers) Baeten. On May 1, 1951 Joan married Kenneth Haen in West DePere and the couple enjoyed 59 years of marriage together prior to his death on December 13, 2010. Joan enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and fishing. She assisted Ken at the Star Orchard, which he owned with his two brothers. Joan enjoyed volunteering in the various communities they lived in.
Joan is survived by her children: Steven (Donna) Haen, Kaukauna, Susan (Paul) Behnke, Oshkosh, James (Cyndy) Haen, Wausau, Jeffrey (Carla) Haen, Oshkosh, Peter (Deanna) Haen, Oakfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; 2 sisters, 1 brother, 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law: Doris (Dick) Thomas, Wisconsin Rapids, Barb (Dave) Reinbold, Manitowoc, Ralph (Virginia) Baeten, Green Bay, and Gene Brown, Boston, MA. She is further survived by her husband's family, 1 brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law: Sr. Ann Joachim Haen, Manitowoc, Ivo (Carol) Haen, Kaukauna and Bernice Haen, Hollandtown; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ken in 2010, a son Richard in 1973, 2 brothers: Ralph Baeten and Fr. David Baeten; and a sister, Virginia Brown. Father David R. Baeten, 74, Bellevue, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2010, at his home. The son of the late Christian G. and Viola M. (Hockers) Baeten was born March 11, 1936, in Green Bay. He graduated from St. Norbert High School in De Pere, St. Francis Minor and Major Seminary in Milwaukee. His uncle, Father Dominic Hockers, O. Praem., was a powerful influence in his life and Dave was ordained to the Priesthood on June 9, 1962, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay, by Bishop Stanislaus V. Bona.

Dorothy Jane (Baeten) Johnson, 82, De Pere; formerly of Appleton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006, at a local nursing home. Dorothy was born July 28, 1923 in De Pere to the late John and Catherine (Kellerman) Baeten. She and her husband were founding members of St. Thomas More Parish in Appleton where she was involved in the choir, girl and boy scouting and numerous church activities. Dorothy enjoyed music throughout her life as well as playing bridge with her good friends.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (the late Camille) and Christopher (Karoline) Johnson, two daughters, Karen (Lauren) Horkman and Marcia (Steven) Holtan, seven grandchildren: Amanda, Kim, Dani and Katie Johnson; Elizabeth, Tom and Joe Holtan, a sister-in-law, Arnoldene Baeten.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Willard C. Johnson, her parents, two infant sons, an infant sister and a brother; Robert Beaten.

Donald J. Vandersteen, 88, of De Pere, beloved husband of 65 years to Mary (Bradtke) Vandersteen, went home with Jesus on Friday, May 20, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Don was born on August 2, 1927 in Green Bay, WI son of the late Alfred and Louise (Baeten) Vandersteen. Following graduation from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, WI, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Using the G.I. Bill he then enrolled in St. Norbert's College. He was a member of the Golden Knights Alumni. While working in the St. Norbert's library he met the love of his life Mary. Upon graduation he worked for G.M. Popkey Company, Prudential Insurance, and then spent 25 years with the Wisconsin Job Service as a Manager/Supervisor. Don had a great passion for helping people and it showed through the course of his career, as he worked to help people find work. In his retirement years he enjoyed getting together with his former buddies especially Jim D., Daryl, and Jim L. He also loved cooking meals while his wife was teaching piano. In his spare time Don enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and traveling the country with his wife at his side. Of the many things people will remember most about Don, is that he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and man of faith.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Mary of De Pere and their children: Michael (Julie) Vandersteen Sheboygan, WI, Paul (Barb) Vandersteen, James Vandersteen, Mary White, John Vandersteen, David (Lisa) Vandersteen Brooklyn, NY, Judith (Mike) Ledvina, Joseph (Kay) Vandersteen. James Gerrits, age 77, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, with his loving family by his side. James was born August 28, 1937. James was the oldest of six children. He was the son of Clarence Gerrits and Mildred (Albers) Gerrits.
James grew up in West DePere, WI. As a young man James joined the army. After completing his tour in the United States Army, he started dating his future wife, Gail (VanEnkenvort) Gerrits. They were married on July 21, 1962.
James had several different career choices as a young man and then decided to work for Techtron Tubing and ultimately retired from that company. Jim was a volunteer at Paul's Pantry for 26 years. He was a huge asset to the pantry and will be missed by all his friends down there.
His children, Dan and Connie were the apples of his eyes. He spoiled them rotten even as adults. He loved them with all his heart. He would do anything for them and was always there for them when they needed him. He was a kind, compassionate, and loving father. He was the best Dad ever! His grandchildren meant the world to him. They were his pride and joy!
Like all of us in Green Bay, WI, he was a crazy Packer Fan. Go Pack Go! Jim loved to fish and hunt. He spent numerous hours teaching his son, daughter and grandchildren to fish, attempting to catch smelt fish and sucker fish with his son and daughter-in-law, and hunting with his relatives and friends in the woods. He would spend hours doing both of these hobbies. Those were two of his favorite hobbies. He also was a great gardener with a green thumb. He loved his plants and always had fun taking care of them and growing the assorted vegetables and flowers in his garden and yard. He loved to show them off.
James (Jim) is survived by the love of his life, his wife Gail; his son, Daniel Gerrits and (Bonnie Semrau-Gerrits), Green Bay, WI; his daughter, Connie and (Roger Garstang), Wentzville, MO. His six, cute, and extremely lovable grandchildren, Matthew, Maria, and Mairee Gerrits; and Lydia, Olivia, and Lucy Garstang. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses,: Gerald, Kenneth and Mary Jo, John and Barbara, Paul and Sue Gerrits; and his sister and her husband, Jane and Gary VanDerWegen.

The s on of the late Gerald P. and Alice (Counihan) Appleton was born July 19, 1 938 in Green Bay. He was a graduate of Nicolet High School, Class of 195 7. Gary "Chief" Van Straten, 45, Green Bay, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 6, 1961, to Lowell and the late Elizabeth (Secor) Van Straten in Green Bay. Gary was a 1980 graduate of Green Bay West High School. On Oct. 5, 1985, he married Nancy Mohr in Green Bay. He had been employed by H. J. Martin & Son. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and also a member of their Men's Club. Chief was an avid Packer fan and was known as the best tailgater. He enjoyed all types of sports and also spending time at the cabin up north. He was a wonderful father and husband
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Brooke; one son, Travis; his father, Lowell; five brothers and three sisters, June (Dave) Amenson, Dale (Wendy) Van Straten, Tony (Jeannie) Van Straten, his twin, Jerri (Ron) Smith, Debbie Van Straten, Dan (Lynn) Van Straten, Don Van Straten and his special friend, Amy; and John "Bear' (Jenny) Van Straten; his father-in-law, Ray Mohr; two brothers-in-law, Dennis (Karen) Mohr and Jim "Moose" (Julie) Mohr; one sister-in-law, Sue (Tom) Carew; nieces and nephews, Brad Amenson, his godchild, Sarah (Greg) Siefert, A. J. and Krystal Smith, Carrie, Brian, Miranda, Charlie, Joey, Alex and Tristen Van Straten; his dog, Midnight; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth, and his mother-in-law, Patricia Mohr.
