    Emory D. Dorn, age 93, Hortonville, died on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. Emory was born on March 31, 1919, in the Town of Ellington (Outagamie County) son of the late William and Laura (Schaumacher) Dorn. On October 5, 1940, he was united in marriage to Marion Wieseler. He owned and operated Dorn's Service in Hortonville for 39 years; retiring in 1981. He was a vital member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville. Emory served on the Hortonville Village board for countless years and was a lifelong member of the Hortonville Commercial Club. His favorite pastime was cutting, splitting and meticulously stacking wood.
    Emory is survived by his children, Jerry Dorn and Patricia Steffen; daughter in-law, Linda Dorn; a brother, Edward (Elaine) Dorn. Grandchildren: Steve (Sharon) Dorn; Dave (Denise) Dorn; Bill (Pam) Dorn; Ellen (Bill) Evans; Paul (LeeAnn) Steffen; Scott (Lisa) Steffen; Christine (Jeff) Pollard; Carolyn (Steve Cutshall) Steffen; Jeff (Ann) Dorn and Greg (Erin) Dorn. He is further survived by 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marion (51 years), son, James Dorn, brother, Ronald Dorn and sisters, Dorothy Beschta and Bernice Laux.
    Funeral Mass for Emory will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. James Feely, Greg Layton and Deacon Ken Bilgrien concelebrating. Visitation will be held at the CHURCH on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 4-7:45 p.m. at which time a prayer service will be held.     Beschta, Dorothy "Grandma"
    Dorothy "Grandma" Beschta, age 87, of Hortonville, left us with a smile on her face and love in her heart to be with the Lord and her husband Elmer on April 24, 2008. Dorothy was born on November 20, 1920, in Hortonville, daughter of the late William and Laura (Schumacher) Dorn. On November 20, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer Beschta. He preceded her in death in 1996. She and her husband lived and farmed in the Hortonville area.
    She was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She volunteered her time working for the funeral lunches and the Friday Fish Fries during Lent. She loved shopping, shaking dice and playing cards.
    Dorothy is survived by three daughters: Beverly Heenan (special friend John Vander Zanden), Appleton; Joan (Bill) Aldinger, Hortonville; and Jean (Ron) McHugh, Black Creek; two brothers: Emory Dorn, Hortonville; and Ed (Elaine) Dorn, Hortonville; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Nussbaum, Hortonville. Eleven grandchildren: Diane (Mike) Zielke, Buzz Heenan, Lori (Terry) Casey, Lyn (Ryan) Rosenow, Terri (Dave) Mulzer, Mary Jo (Gregg) Theimer, Jamie Besaw (special friend Cassie), Chad (Tammy) McHugh, Kelly McHugh (fiance Phil), Jeremy (Dana) McHugh and Rob McHugh (special friend Laura); 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive Dorothy.
    Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by a sister Bernice Laux, a brother Ron Dorn, son-in-law Charles Heenan, a granddaughter Sheryl Heenan and a great-grandson Brad Heenan.
    Funeral Mass for Dorothy will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. James Feely officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville on Sunday, April 27, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
    She took a part of us with her but left us with so much more than words can express.

    Kenneth H. Schumacher, age 82, passed away on January 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Ken was born in Stephensville on August 29, 1930, son of the late Albert and Mildred Schumacher. After graduating from Appleton High School, Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy. On December 27, 1951, Ken married Lila "Dickie" Vander Zanden. They went on to enjoy 61 years of marriage and raised four children.
    Ken loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and making his famous "greasy eggs" on the campfire. He also enjoyed the swimming pool, fixing things and watching golf on T.V.
    He is survived by his wife, Lila; his children Gary (Terri) Schumacher, Sandy (Greg) Schuh, Trish (Tom) Bongers and Missy (Chris) Eis; grandchildren, Sara (Chris Valley) Schumacher, Amy (Greg Behrend) Schumacher, Keith (Jamie Deitzen) Schuh, Theresa (Tony) Weinzetl, Alicia Biesterveld, Tyler (Jamie Dickman) Biesterveld, Tara (Nathaniel Puetz) Carew, Laci Bongers, Autumn Bongers, Holly Carew, BreAnna (Edic Anaya) Bath and Kailey Bath: great grandchildren, Anthony, Jordan, Talen, Carter, Maya, Alivia, Jaden, Kelsey and Lilyana. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Jamie Schumacher.
    Ken's family would like to thank Dr. Goggins, Hope and the office staff, as well as the nurses at St. Elizabeth that were with us when Ken passed.
    A private family memorial will be held.

    Heenan, Bradley J. Brad Heenan, age 24, of Appleton and Weyauwega, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1983, in Appleton the son of Diane (Heenan) Zielke and Jeffrey Gerrits. Brad lived in the Appleton area all of his life and was a graduate of Appleton East High School class of 2001. Brad worked at several area businesses and was currently employed at Resource One. Brad loved to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, four wheeling, golf, fishing, and just hanging out with his buddies.
    He will be deeply missed by his mother and step-father Diane (Mike) Zielke, Weyauwega; his father, Jeff (Laura) Gerrits, Appleton; grandparents: Beverly Heenan and Bob and Mildred Gerrits all of Appleton; great-grandmother, Dorothy Beschta, Hortonville; sister Melissa Gerrits; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; a special friend Matt Rathsack and many dear friends.
    Brad was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Heenan.
    A celebration of Brad's life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, October 27th, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Deacon Patrick Whitcomb officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
