Evelyn B. Nehring, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 8, 200 6, in Appleton. She was born March 26, 1921, to John H. and Mary (Timmer s) Schmidt in the town of Woodville. She married Herman Nehring on June 2 7, 1942. Evelyn was a food service worker at Appleton Medical Center f or 21 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Christian Ladi es of St. Therese Church. She did volunteer work at the church and at t he Salvation Army. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and lov ed her.Evelyn is survived by a son, Ronald Nehring, San Jose, CA; two daughter s, Janet (Carl) Kopischkie, Sun City Center, FL, and Beverly (Tom) Henders on, Livonia, MI; son-in-law, Daniel Vandenberg (Zinnia), Kansas; two broth ers, John (Nancy) Schmidt, Kaukauna and Donald (Margie) Schmidt of Crivit z; a sister, Harriet Christiansen of Racine; a sister-in-law, Dot Schmid t, Kaukauna; four grandchildren: Michael (Paula) Kopischkie, Germantown a nd Patrick (Carrie) Kopischkie, Oconomowoc; Eric Henderson (fiancee Lori G onzales), Dallas, TX and Ryan Henderson (Rene Murray), Chicago, IL; two gr eat-grandchildren, Melina and Carter Kopischkie. Evelyn is also surviv ed by many nieces and nephews and her dear friend of 35 years, Reuben Scha efer and family.Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judi th Vandenberg; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Earl and Marie Hackbart h, Theresa and Victor Holewinski, Rosella and Harry Paczkowski; a brothe r, Alphonse Schmidt, and a brother-in-law, Tom Christiansen.Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2 006, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, wi th Fr. Bill Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until t he time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church.
